Yeah - exactly.
I've lusted over doing a "Duraburb" type conversion on my Yukon XL 2500, but in my state that would be a problem because of the emission regs.
I've toyed with the idea of putting an 8.1L into a GMT900 for more towing power, but there's issues around that. Then - last week -...
How much money do you feel like spending?
I have a 2010 Yukon XL 2500 - outside of the Suburban 3500 they manufactured during the next generation, which are extremely rare - there's no exact replacement for this truck for me. Plus the prices on new stuff is just totally out of my ability to...
The other thing I would add to this thread is: there's a lot of aftermarket blind spot systems - that just give you an indicator light that can be mounted on the inside of the door on the mirror mount or the windshield column or something like that , here's a cheap one on Amazon...
My question would be: so how "doable" is it to add blind spot detection - if the truck didn't come with it from the factory.
My 2010 Yukon XL 2500 - didn't come with blind spot detection. I've had the entire rear of my truck apart, and just checked again the other night , and I don't see any...
I seem to remember reading somewhere that GM added more interior space to the latest gen of Burb/Yukon XL - because they didn't need to use up as much space to fit in the independent suspension rear end. That seems like a solveable problem though - by just adding a little more height to the...
Interesting.
As I remember GM stopped building the Yukon XL/Suburban 2500's for "consumers" - when the GMT900 line ended in 2013. Pretty sure the were using the old "weren't selling enough of them" excuse.
Duraburb has a video up on Youtube where they pulled apart one of the 2015-2020...
Sorry for necro-thread revival , but I just ran across this while investigating adding blind spot detection on my 2010 Yukon XL
Check out Boost Auto - they make replacement glass for some of the GM mirrors - that has the blind spot indicator built in
I have a 2010 Yukon XL 2500 - and I installed the Morimoto XB LED headlights into it a couple of years ago -and I think they were definitely worth the money. WAY more output than the factory lights, really good beam pattern, and they look good too.
I had installed the Morimoto projector LED...
I used to have a 2003 Suburban 2500 - and that thing seemed to constantly have problems with wipers. I put the best Bosch wipers on it - and they'd still skip and chatter across the glass. I Rain-X'ed the windshield - still had the same problem. I think I went thru three or four different...
I did a bunch of research to see if there was any path to using OEM to put bigger brakes on my 2010 2500 series Yukon XL - and could not find anything that was "easy". I think it's the 2011 and newer trucks that use the new metric bolt pattern and I recall seeing a lot of people saying they...
My father watches one of those mechanic Youtube channels ( I think it's South Main Auto), and keeps bringing up the same episode with me (he's like 85 now) - where the mechanic gets in this Chevy pickup - of relatively recent vintage - that the customer had into the dealer multiple times for all...
I don't think all aftermarket is the same. The Morimoto headlights I put in my 2010 Yukon seemed to be high quality - as good or better than OEM. I've had them in there now for at least 2 years and they're still working just fine. I did put clear bra type material over them just to protect...
These are probably going to be out of your price range - but I HIGHLY recommend the Morimoto XB LED replacement headlights for the 2007-2014 Yukons:

I replaced the stock yellowed and cracked OEM housings with these...
