The 2000-2002 radios only had a lock on them if the owner enabled that feature and set their own code. It's called Theftlock and it's turned off by default. Most radios probably won't have a lock code as the average person wouldn't have bothered enabling it.
I'm not certain about the standard...
My Yukon has the exact same rust spot under one of my roof rails and it's always been a SoCal truck. Noticed it awhile ago and it doesn't seem to have grown, but probably should address it at some point.
Were you able to tackle it?
Yikes... that much for just the roof and hood?? I was figuring $3k for everything. Ouch. Wanted to do the whole truck so it looked even and matched. I've been on the lookout for a good condition hood for years. Never been able to find a matching one in good shape. Either it's faded too or it's...
Who here has had their rigs painted? How much did you pay? My Denali's beautiful Redfire Metallic paint is fading pretty badly on the hood and roof. Kind of embarrassed to see it in this state. I'm figuring it needs a full respray. Don't make fun of me, but I'm looking for Maaco budget territory.
I use BlueDriver for most of my code reading. It pulls codes deeper than most generic scanners and the app is very user friendly and helpful at explaining what the problem is, how common it is, and user-reported fixes.
I have direct replacement LEDs in my Denali. They plug and play with the factory connector and twist right into the socket. Had them for almost 3 years now with no issues. Highly recommend.
As far as the foggy lenses, you can sand and polish them to get rid of the damaged layer, or pickup an...
Thanks everyone for the input. I haven’t had a chance to jack it up and check for play yet. Question… it’s better to replace the whole hub rather than just the bearing, correct?
I know this sounds counter intuitive, but instead of replacing the amp (if that is the problem) you might consider replacing the radio with an aftermarket head unit and bypassing the amp (properly of course ;)).
My guess would be to start tracing those wires from the previous owner. If they had a aftermarket head unit installed, they likely bypassed the factory amp.
Aaaaaand crickets lol.
But in the off-chance the OP comes back to read and reply... you said your battery is good. How do you know? Was it tested professionally to be good? You said you start and stop the truck all day. That would wreak havoc on a battery. Is it cold in the morning where you...
