What can I gain from a tune?
I went with the Diablo tuner and Diablew tune route. It definitely helped! I run heavy tires and tow frequently. If I remove the tune the truck becomes a super slug - no fun to drive!- 4WDTRK

Odd hum/whine from rear while accelerating
Shop diagnosed today and says it's definitely ring/pinion wear and needs to be replaced. So good and bad here. I have 3.42 gears and have always wished I was geared lower, especially for towing. So I'm planning to repair and swap to 3.73 gears. The bad is the cost, $3800 - $4200, waiting for...- 4WDTRK

Serviced the rear diff and didn't notice anything abnormal. Refilled with RP 75W-90. Still have the noise. I'm getting the tires rotated and balanced today just to rule that out.- 4WDTRK

The sound is most noticeable taking off from a stop up to about 40mph. It's subtle, but the pitch and frequency change with increased RPM/speed. If I'm just cruising or at freeway speed I don't really notice it. Sounds like it's coming from the rear end/driveline area. Trans seems to shift...- 4WDTRK

I think I may have got it figured out! Thanks to @ncalvo his post helped to scrutinize the INFO circuit. After pulling this fuse I haven't been able to reproduce the drain. The circuit is for Onstar/Rear Entertainment. In my case I have Onstar, but no rear entertainment. Onstar was disabled last...- 4WDTRK

Trans temp on new cluster
With the key on (no start) I only get a reading on the M1 trans temp. Maybe the others will work when actually started, I'll check next time I drive it. -

Yea I watched both parts of that video from South Main Auto a while ago. It was very informative. I'm going to need to dig in a bit deeper. I think the key will be finding the fuse with the 1.1amp draw. There are fuses that show different amp draws, but I haven't checked all of them yet.- 4WDTRK

Ok here's my build. I labeled them M1, M2, and M3. I'm not sure if I have the Pro version of Torque, but I know I paid for it a while back. I'll give it a spin soon. -

That's a great question @Fless ! I was actually wondering if my torque app was correct and now that you mention the different PID's. Do you know which one is correct? I'll see which one I'm using. Thanks! -

Very interesting. Per Carl at fixmygauges.com he says the normal key off needle position should be about one tic below the first mark.
