What NOT to do When Doing Brakes... DOH!!!

Thx for sharing guys!! I’ve done the OP thing as well and I second Homie’s comments for sure, had a front caliper bolt back out after my own break job when my son was driving it, he thought he had messed up dad’s truck, quite the contrary, I messed up his day!! I learned!!! be sure to clean up...

    Eric O-Exhaust Manifold Bolt Removal

Yes indeed, as I mentioned, his other video deals with several diff techniques and one is a flush that I think he welded a nit to it. My point is though, if you watch this guy a bit, his videos usually have upwards of 15k plus likes and he makes vids pretty much everyday, you will see it’s not...

    Eric O-Exhaust Manifold Bolt Removal

I watch Eric O all the time, he’s an excellent mechanic, best I have ever seen certainly the best on the internet. As he mentioned at beginning of vid, we made another vid with older GMs and uses different techniques. After watching him for years, IMO, no “luck” there!!

    5.3 Tick/Knock?

That’s what my 5.3 sounded like. I had 2 broken studs, rear most on both sides. I am just a hobby mechanic but the job was not bad. Lots of posts about it. Mine had tops broken off like yours so lots of stud left to grab on to. I cracked all the remaining bolts on both sides to make sure would...

2012 Chevy Tahoe low oil pressure/ shop says I need new engine!

I like the oil analysis idea, that will tell if and what parts in the engine maybe falling apart. Isn’t the oil plug magnetic? Cant you just pull the oil plug out and inspect for metal, not as good as the analysis but cheap and easy.

    Need Help With Brake Lines

Thx T14, I didn’t have that size in my kit and I was advised not to do that as it would cut the threads down a bit and might leak. I looked for a split die thread chaser but doesn’t exist in that size. Good news though, I removed the line from the MC and it looked pretty good, the MC hole is...

    Need Help With Brake Lines

Hi folks, 2008 Yukon XL SLT 5.3L Flex Fuel. I need to replace my brake lines running from the Master Cylinder down to the ABS module, I unfortunately buggered one of the ends trying to thread it into a new MC. My lines are coated and have M12x1 fittings. After some research, I presume they are...

A/C Snowflake light on but compressor does not run

Ok, thx Dave, that makes sense, mine sitting at 50 so looks like it’s were it should be, was at 20 before I added I can and the table also explains why the top of the blue on my gauge is 55. I presume that the table is when system is running so, here is a question for you, you said you topped...

Battery drain on a 99 Tahoe

Oh wow!! Sometimes you just never know. That’s a great tip to check that first before moving on to fuses. I had a 66 wildcat that I could take the key right out of the dash without turning it off!!

A/C Snowflake light on but compressor does not run

Thx, I’ll try that next if she runs down again. I did see a bit of green leak tek near the high pressure valve so it’s possible that is the problem. Is it the high or the low that is most often to blame? Also, what pressure should I have on the low side, I read another post where guy said he...

2006 Tahoe/AC charged but Compressor not turning

That’s a good start but swapping the relay only proves it is prob not the relay, did you jumper the pins to put voltage to the clutch as I suggested?

2006 Tahoe/AC charged but Compressor not turning

Awesome find!!! Luv it when it’s that easy. Our OP sounds like he is having a bigger issue but always start with the basics to see what you got.

Battery drain on a 99 Tahoe

I don’t always agree with Scotty but I used this method on a 97 civic and found several draws. The battery would go dead in about a week. The 1 ohm resistor method is great as you can hook up the shunt and monitor your voltage over time and the battery is still hooked up so all the modules stay...
