I got in an accident. This isn't the update I wanted to post.

Long story short. Double left turn and I was on the inside moving to the intersection during rush hour. Guy in the outside lane came OVER a solid white line into my lane and messed up my passenger side. He was pissed and stated his left turn signal meant he wanted in my lane (over the white line, while 100 feet from the intersection) and not that he was making a left turn with the rest of us. WTF? Not bright.

I got pics of the scene and we went to a parking lot. He wanted to settle out of pocket. When I tried to talk he would just talk over me. I raised my voice to finally state he illegally crossed a solid white line he got in my face and told me he was going to kick my ******* ass.

I'm 6ft, 200lbs, haven't stopped working out in a ton of years and do olympic weight lifting for fun. I am not super big but this dude was 50 years old and came up to my chin. He had to be nuts so I just called the police to deal with him.

Long story short he lied about having insurance and my insurance company is going after him. They have all my notes, photos and diagrams. I'm an **** engineer (I don't design anuses. I'm just detail oriented) ;) . Of course I have a shit ton of details! ;)

I'm all for opportunity here, have a mixed family/friends and so forth. Unfortunately my area is full of immigrants that don't play by the rules, like having insurance. (there are also many that do of course) If I/or him were seriously injured we both could have been ****** financially because of him.

Sigh... rant over. Pics now. I'm taking her to the body shop tomorrow. Its not a ton of damage but still could be $$ for the insurance company seeing how some parts are creased, dented and scratched all over the passenger side.

Y'all, take a ton of pics at the scene of an accident. You can really save time and pain and later find details that help you out.

Its more annoying that anything else. 2 days after wifey and I put about 700 miles on the Yukon, so yeah, not serious. Its not a show truck but I hate driving something that looks beat up!

Got a call from the shop stating the painting was sub par and would need to be redone. I appreciate them being up front but still... damn... We're getting a bit of rain and thunderstorms later in the week. I want to garage the ISF and drive the truck!

:p

;)

First world problems.. I know..

Truck is back. What a shit place Pohanka Collision is. I wouldn't take it home the first time since they forgot to reinstall trim, messed up a speaker, broke my windshield, left the antenna off, broke a door card and so forth. 2nd time they left the plastic under the windshield unbolted. Why did I find this?! Where is their QC?!!!

Then after I get it home I see a dent is not fully removed and there is an excessive amount of orange peel in the paint. **** me! I need the truck, there are dents and scratches elsewhere so I'll live with it.

I'm now getting ready for a final 4l80e parts order before I rebuild which means getting the Lexus ISF ready for daily duty during the hot summer. I'm detailing it now. Black cars are a *****.

Claybar, Meguiar's M105, followed by 205 and this is the result. No final polish or wax yet. I used chem brother orange and white pads respectively. I used my wifes old black BMW for a test platform. I'm happy so far.

Why did you choose to paint the bumper black?

There was a rust stain that wouldn't go away. The easiest thing to do was plastidip it ;)

I might just do all the chrome.

Does it look bad?

This is true. How's the progress on the trans. Coming along?

Sigh... Work has been a *****. I will get there.

So the roof rack looked like ass. Faded paint and scratches. I used rustoleum trim paint. Came out nice. I'll do the rest of the trim as I feel like it.

More boring updates. It was a hard day at work so I needed to do something to take my mind off it.

I was thinking that I needed to paint the rear pillar covers but first I thought I'd just try a polish and seal. I was happy with the results. I'll not paint them now.

Top done, bottom not.

I'm also battling some rust on the rear hatch. I used clear silicon on part of the top wire loom to stop one leak, but just realized that the other end would result in this rust.
