Looking at buying a 04 z71 any input?

I'm going to drive 5 hours tonight to look at a 04 z71 Tahoe. Its got 150000 on it and has no history of anything on Carfax. Is there anything in particular that I should look for? Any help/info would be greatly appreciated!!

QUESTION: Where are you located at that you will drive 5 hours to look at a rig 150K on the clock?

What is your budget, is this truck THAT cheap?

There must be other more appealing samples around closer to home, NO?

In general, issues are Fuel and water pump, pitman and idler arms, tie rods, id it has automatic climate control, there are issues as well.

I'm in winston Salem NC and am going to Virginia beach. As stated its a 04 z71, she's asking 6,000 I've already got her talked down from that.
I'm not finding anything close to me for that kind of deal, everything else has 200k or more.
Long story short, the truck was bought for a family member who moved away a month later and basically they don't drive it. They might have put 100 miles on since Aug.

My budget is around 6-7 thousand. Bank values the truck at 10,9

Got any pictures? Is it in good shape? Does she have maintenance records or any kind of history at all?

Yes she's sent me several pics. Looks to be in great shape. Only issue as of now is a rip in the drivers seat. Which seems to be common for these trucks?
I doubt they have any records as it was bout at an auction.

Based on what I can see on the pics, I would agree that with exception of the driver seat, the truck looks good. It can be fixed with a seat cover replacement.

Will definitely need some TLC such as cleaning up the black (or should I saymnow grey) plastic pieces on the bumper.

If she checks out good and there are no visbile issues such as any oil leaks, all electronices work, lights, mirrors, windows, cruise control, radio sterring wheel buttons, etc. and you have already talked her down from 6K, it will be a nice truck.

Mine has 134K on it and with regular maintencne as well as the mentioned issues (changed the water pump and idler arm last weekend), I have no issues with mine and the truck runs great.

Ok that reminds me of a question. I've seen lower seat cover replacements on eBay. Does anyone have experience with buying on of these?

Sorry its took me so long to get back. Been to busy enjoying this thing!!! I would have gotten one years ago, had I known I'd enjoy a full size suv this much!

I know of people that got seat covers from the seat shop. They have some great videos online showing you how to change them yourself.
