Hey guys, not technically a part of this community yet, but I'd like to be. I've had my eye on a 2005 Yukon and I was wondering if I should be super worried about it. I absolutely love everything about the vehicle inside and out, but the mileage is somewhat high..

I'd be trading in a 2004 Ford Explorer (Yes, I know.) with just as many miles on it. Am I really going to end up with something more reliable? Also, the A/C compressor is bad, but the dealer agreed to fix it if I were to purchase it. Here's a link:

Can you guys give me some opinions?

That yukon looks great! I wouldn't be to worried about the mileage, 113k isn't that bad, and gm's seem to run a long time.

Looks real clean. Look at the undercarriage for rust and bushing conditions.

I'm new to forum also, but these SUVs seem to get great longevity if serviced. Looks pretty good

Truck looks clean and I would not worry about the mileage at all.

A truck this clean was most likely not abused and always serviced.

Thanks guys. I'm not too worried about the stereo since I'll most likely be installing a new HU after the purchase.

On a related note, does anybody know if I can get some center caps for the wheels?

I think I still have an extra set of LTZ caps somewhere. If not a salvage yard or a tire shop or another tahoe at that dealership.

I'm not sure how prices vary up there vs TX. I picked up my '06 Tahoe LT a couple months ago for $10995 with 106000 on it. The crappy Michelins were showing dry rot even though they had plenty of tread left on them. I just put a set of Tahoe LTZ wheels and barely scuffed tires on it for $1000. If your tires are in good shape, I would think that's a decent deal. Are those Tahoe LTZ wheels? LTZ center caps were all over craigslist and ebay for around $60 a set I think. I came across a few ads for the center caps when I was searching for my wheels....not sure if there is any difference in replica vs OEM LTZ wheel center caps. Something to think about though.

good looking truck. minus the gas door.

Awe come on now, the gas door is the sale point! I kid, I kid.

Looks like a real nice rig man. Congrats on the potential purchase! Should definitely ask about some caps tho. And welcome to the forum.

EXCELLENT!!!!! Keep us posted on your progress and CONGRATULATIONS!

And I agree with what has been said a couple of times already, negotiate a set of centercaps and have the dealer put them on.

I would definitely go with the Yukon if the dealerships plans to fix the compressor. I have an 04 Yukon Xl Denali and I absolutely love it. No major problems and is very reliable. Explorers are money pits and death traps you will not go wrong by buying the Yukon. Does it have leather or a moon roof or anything like that??

It has everything.. moon roof, leather, rear DVD player, pretty much all the options. I'm really excited about it.

I agree too, but my only problem with that is I really don't want the chevy logo on my Yukon, if that makes any sense. Do they make GMC center caps to fit these wheels?
