Do the endcaps vary in shape from year to year on the roof racks? Are 2002 endcaps different from 2010 endcaps or is the way it fits just different. Do not want to buy the wrong rack.

They're all the same. Just get the correct length. (suburban vs tahoe vs avalanche).

just the way they fit is different. I don't remember the year they changed, but that's the only thing different

The rubber piece that goes around the whole rack is completely different from the 00-06 (several pieces) and 07+ (all one piece) versions. End caps should be the same though...

I just noticed that some of the clip like pieces on the end of my end caps are missing a few pieces will this be a big deal?

If it's the metal clips that hold them on to the roof rack, then yes

If you care about the end caps actually staying on while you're going 70+ on the highway, then yes. If not, then no :)

I am talking about the edge that connects to the chrome. Parts of it is broken off. Once installed it won't be seen.

Without those you can't mount the rack, that's where the screws go and hold the rack down

That end goes in to the chrome piece a little to keep them held down. Those are still usable, however they still won't be held on great and I would worry that they would fly off.
