Think I offered him $220, try $200

You can replace the sealed beam headlights and get ones with HIDs but it wont be cheap, looking at around $1000. Little brother has a 86 Buick Grand National also with sealed headlights, was looking at HIDs for him...$1200

You can easily swap out the grill with the new headlights and get HIDs for under $1000 lol

He is looking for the HID kit, don't believe anybody makes a HID kit for the H6054 bulb. You would have to buy the whole headlight/hid kit assembly which most places sell.

I would stay away from the projector ones though...doubt they are true projectors.

Pretty much. Haven't seen anybody else offer HID reflector housings. I know IPCW offers projector headlights but I doubt they are true projectors.

Sorry to pick your brain here. But does carpartnation offer those hid lights without the actual hids? Im not a big fan of the 4000K, im in love with the 8000k instead. So is it worth it to buy the 250dollar one or something else, then buy the 8k lights? thanks man! :Handshake:

and for the guy who started the thread. would these work for ya?

Atomic, I hear ya wanting to put higher rating HIDs in your headlights but like Haks preaches about, they basically found that the rating that those come in are the best for ilumination output. As a nice little extra, you also get a little plastic bracket thats built into those lights that hold the ballist for the HIDs. Others don't come with that and you have to either screw the ballast into the body or use double sided tape.

Its not that huge of a deal, but im of the oponion that anything that make the install easier, i'm all about. I'd say buy the lights and then sell the HIDs on here. I'd be willing to bet someone would buy those!!!!

all you would need to do is order his kit, then order some 8000k D1R bulbs.

Yeah you can order the headlights and the HID kit seperately, but I am pretty confident the HID kit you will get comes with D1S bulbs....which are designed for projectors. You would have to look for a D1R HID kit if you want to do it right. Or like RT said, you can get the headlights wit the HID kit and just replace the bulb with a 8000K D1R bulb.

Edit: These guys sell the D1R bulbs: http://store.ijdmtoy.com/JDM-Optimal-D1S-D1R-D1C-HID-Xenon-Bulbs-p/hid_d1c.htm

Yeah but the HID headlight kit also come with a wiring harness and the 4Hi mod, which if bought seperately is around $70. And the fact that you will be DOT/SAE legal and won't have to worry about blinding people. LoL and you also get two cool TYC stickers!

When you activate your highbeams, your low beams will stay on.
