Hey all,

A couple weeks ago, my truck struggled slightly to start (but did start), and had been fine ever since. But, this morning, the stock battery finally gave up the ghost and wouldn't start.

Just wanted to post this as an FYI. If you've made it this far on your stock battery, chances are you're not going to get too much farther with it.

The POS gel battery on my Z06 went a LOT faster than this, but it's fair to say that most of these GM stock battery are crappola.

Better safe than sorry!

You are in the south though so without the cold they probably last longer.

In the South they tend to shit the bed in the middle of the summer. Every battery failure I've ever had was somewhere between June and August. I'm a little concerned about mine this year.

Not as much cold. Lots more humidity. Heat sucks. I hope that helps Derek.

Kirk, I had a similar problem with my 06 supercharged (from factory) Cobalt. This happened once in Utah and again in Virginia. Going aftermarket, and buying a bigger and stronger battery, solved that problem. However, my wife's 07 Cobalt with the 2.4 is over 5 years old and still on the same battery that came with the car when we bought the car brand new.

Very much so :Handshake:

I think my first battery lasted 60K, the second not as long but I had other issues.

But you know Florida? Hmm...

I just know it's warmer all year round, no snow, and beaches. I do not know that much about it but more then NC or VA

I just bought two of these batteries the other day for my dual battery setup. They are very nice (better than Optima). They are also the same as the Deka Intimidator battery so they are good for aftermarket electronics.
My stock battery took a dump at right under three years and about 25000 miles.

Mine was pretty weak when I bought the truck with 58k miles so I changed it. I'm not sure if that was the original battery or not though.
