I agree with that Robbie ... but width isn't the issue so far as I understand it, diameter is. In my experience 'donut' spare tires are carriage wheel thin but they retain the same circumference as the regular wheel/tire combo ... or am I mistaken in this?

IF the circumference/diameter is the same, no matter how thin it is, logic dictates that the problem will persist.

Is this right?

You used the exhaust from a Hummer H2? Any issues fitting it?

Done  This Exhaust modification required too much cutting and welding:weld::weld::weld::weld:

Too bad you've edited every single one of your posts so that no one can gleam any information at all from what it took to get to that point :flipthebird:

Meh Jacob ... all he really accomplished is installing a bumper and an exhaust as they were meant to be installed. Oh and he drilled an unnecessary hole in his brand new bumper for lack of listening and thinking things through.

Not much, if anything, has been lost. :)

Not for long in that config ... that truck is about to set its own ass on fire.

Or at least melt the spare tire slowly to the point of being unusable.

Good try tho ... but for the fire.

2" of clearance between the pipe and the spare tire. Is enough :hands:

I'd imagine if you really needed to you could put a heat shield around it as well. But yeah, 2" should be enough I would think...

I see ... so basically GM puts a huge heat shield on all the other trucks who's exhaust pipes are by the sides of the truck cause they love spending extra on unnecessary parts.

Hopefully I'm wrong on this and nothing/no oen gets damaged.

Time will tell ...

But it does show that it can be done, albeit better with custom pipes running further down the sides.

It is interesting.

How far away is the resonator from the spare? I only ask because I bought mine with no resonator or I'd go check.

I'll take some pics tomorrow ... i'm supposed to go to the muffler shop to get my SLP tip installed.

The more I stare at those pics the more I think esca succeeded.

Hopefully this won't be another tale of exhaust pipes fubaring or setting the spare on fire ... but it looks like an exhaust shop could push each of the pipes a few inches further out and avoid the potential issue all together.

Maybe it is better to use thermo tape(as for the headers warp) on exhaust pipe to avoid spare tyre heating:imo:

You can look at Thermo-Tec Clamp-on Pipe heat shield also. Just to be sure ))
