I have a 2011 GMC Yukon XL Denali bought in December 2011 and have experienced this a few times (but not every time).

So you had to fix the problem? Was the dealership going to charge you for a factory defect? I was under the impression if it is a recall or tsb the dealership would fix at no cost to the customer?

Dealers will cover recalls at no charge to vehicle owners regardless of warranty. TSBs are covered under warranty only. My truck is out of warranty, thus I did this repair on my own.

Don't know what the deal is but i can never get the lock on a pump to stay on when fueling my truck... i cant hold it either or it stops. i have to basically find the sweet spot on the trigger and hold it there. For awhile i thought it was the pumps but i have been to a few other gas stations and it still happens. Has anyone else had this issue? whats the deal!?

I have the same exact problem. Went to 5 different gas stations around town and still have the same problem. Currently, there is only 1 particular pump at one of the stations that I do not experience this problem. The only different that I see is that you have to have a perfectly straight shot of the nozzle going into the gas tank. The tube or fuel line cannot be twisted, tangled or bent at any angle. This is the only time that I can use the lock on the nozzle and let the fuel run, otherwise I have to stand there like an idiot who fills gas for the very first time

I have always had this issue with my Trailblazer, I absolutely hate it. About 90% of the time I have to hold it 'just so,' which pumps at the rate of somewhere in between painfully slow and molasses. I especially hate it because it makes me feel like I don't know how to use the damn pump. I sincerely hope my next truck doesn't have this issue, it sure would be nice to just hook up, set the trigger and go inside to get whatever from the gas station.

Wow, glad I'm not the only one that feels like an idiot while pumping gas. I'm hoping that GM will help us out here and take care of it because it really sucks pumping gas in the middle of the winter and the stupid thing doesn't work right.

Our 2011 Tahoe does this...but not everytime. We bought it as a "GM Certified Used" should this be covered under my warranty?

I just took a 500 mile road trip, filled twice and had to stand there like a dumbass filling both times going at a trickle

Just went to the dealer, they're going to change something since there was some bulletin sent out. Said it had to do with venting out the fumes. It's getting done over the weekend/next week so I'll post the invoice once it's done - hopefully others with the same problem can go try to get their dealer to do it too.

There is a vent that goes from the filler neck to a fitting under your truck
This needs to be replaced

I think it was a 25 dollar part at the dealership

Took about 30 minutes to replace

My check engine light came on one day and had the codes checked it went back to this vent line

Once replaced no problems filling up

No kidding. Thanks GM Customer Service, y'all are a great help on the forum. Do us a favor and just send out a bulletin to the dealers fixing this. I took a service manager to the gas station and he was showing me how to use the gas pump and push down on the nozzle... then he cracked the plastic surrounding the filler hole. I'm not a moron, but apparently he is

Steve, just wondering if you had an update with the fueling issue and getting yours fixed?
