Yeah am gonna get some appliques now. But I probably have to paint the top(third brake light) area as well..

About the SMD-LEDs I will probably get normal LED for the reverse as I heard it's better quality. Need to research more on that though.

Ummmm normal LED's suckkkkkk compared to SMD LED's... i've had both and yea the normal LED's are TERRIBLE. Just a heads up ;)

Regular led is better? Hmm...

I definitely don't think so. I got normal LED's for my license plate lights and they blew within a week. Got SMD LED's and they're still kickin.

Can someone give me the links to these SMD-LEDs...

(if someone has an article which speaks about the difference, would be good... )

If u do get the applique please leave them black. will look nice. Its how we distinguish the tahoe from the yukon.

Who cares about "distinguishing" between a Tahoe and Yukon? (And how do the owners of black Yukons distinguish?) Really. The fact that someone at GMC thought it was a good idea to leave them black doesn't mean that it actually looks good.

I swapped my stock appliqués for Esky ones -- and had them painted to match -- on my '02 Tahoe, and it improved the lines of the truck immensely.

If you prefer the look of the black appliqués, then no one can fault you for that. But keeping them black just 'cause they came that way on 1 of 3 shared body styles? If I got replacement appliqués, I'd paint them in a heartbeat.

Thats the thing, if i change the appliques, they must be painted, because the edges of the appliques wont give shape to the whole thing, and it will look dull in black..

then i have to paint the "third light" area as well otherwise it'll look quite dull...

I usually buy my leds from v-leds but sometimes they are too expensive.
So for leds that don't blink/flash I buy them at autolumination ... for my backups I have the third ones on this page: http://autolumination.com/3157_3156.htm
Very happy with them and they are stupid bright. :)
