So i was thinking about getting a stock radio with CD player instead of cassette tape player with a IPhone/IPod connection cable installed and getting my rid of my cassette player and removing the CD player under my HVAC knobs... My question is, Is their any good speakers with out subs or having to go with an after market amp that would fit into the door panels and ceiling that are dirrect fit.. I really want some really good after marker speakers..?

Also, if i get rid of the CD player, is their a way to instal the newer factory stereos into my 99 Hoe? if so, what kind of mods would i have to do?

Ebay I think, I had them in my '94 blazer transplanted them over to the yukon before I sold the blazer. I like them they sound nice. I have pioneers in the doors I would love to swap out for some nice components, but that's lower on the list right now ;)

As far as the head units go.... I wanted to install a double DIN, but as everyone knows......major mods to do it.
So... I opted for Sound Storm Labs model# sds-545M
It's not the most popular brand, but @ $135.00, I've got cd/sd card/usb input/ radio playability, and it's got a 5.5" touchscreen. Best of all it's a single DIN fitment.
I like this radio so much, I shopped around and bought a backup unit for $125.00 in case the first unit ever fails.

yea you might need adapters for the rear 4x10s if you want 6x9s in there. personally I think there are no 4x10s that sound decent. throw in 6x9s and be done with it. hey blue99....how did you do that chevy logo in the stock cd place?

I was thinking of putting 6x9's in the back also. From what I can see, all that is needed to fit them is to cut the metal that holds the 4x10's opening wider, and mount slim fits. I haven't tackled that project yet, and threw in some 4x10's for now.

i think its a interface for stock tahoe on ebay..serious i got some aluminum from ace hardware and cut it out a piece and used 3m double sided tape to stick it to the back of the dash and i had a chevy logo key chain laying around the house bent the key ring hook off and double sided it to the aluminum plate i cut out

I wonder if there's a way you can use that Chevy plate as a swing up cover for a delete pocket. Totally custom, and the best of both worlds.
I've come to rely on my pocket.... would miss it if I didn't have it.
