So my airbag service light just went off and is staying lit. I have an appointment with the dealer on Monday, but if anyone has any ideas of how i could trouble shoot it myself it would be much appreciated. Thanks

Mine came on, I don't remember exactly what was wrong but my usual shop wanted nothing to do with it. I think something had to be tightened... $100 at the dealership.

Let me throw my few cents in here, I took mine to the dealer, they told me that it was common with the law enforcement Tahoe, because officers tend to stick their flashlights on the side of the seat, according to them, there is a harness below the driver seat, that gets disconnected. It happened to me right after I cleaned it with the vacuum, didn't notice hitting anything. But that is what they said happened. So check under your seat for any harness that might be disconnected, it might just be that.

That's interesting, because I keep my 3 D Cell Mag Light next to my seat and the light came on after the detailer moved my seat all the way back. I will have to go out and check this. Thanks for the info.

Sir, I owe you a beer. You just saved me a trip to the dealer. I checked the side of the seat and sure enough, my flashlight disconnected some kind of sensor. Problem solved. God I love this forum. Thanks!

So, I have the "service airbag light" on and off issue, I will check the connector under the drivers seat. Do I need to disconnect the battery prior to doing this?

So there's a connection on the side of the seat?? Underneath I'm guessing? My light is on as well.

Just to be sure disconnect the battery, cause if you have to think about, you might as well do, don't want to burn anything

Yeah, just stick your head under the side next to the console. You will see two connectors. My guess is one is unplugged, like mine was.

That's cool. I'll check that out tonight. I was checking the side closest to the door but tonight I'll check on the console side :waytogo:

As far as troubleshooting goes, I would let the dealership look at it. They will be able to diagnose the issue, and why it happened, along with fixing it. Let me know what the dealership says on Monday. Keep us updated.

Breanne you need to read the whole thread, Punisher posted this on Friday, today is Wednesday, I'm not speaking for him, but I'm pretty sure he didn't go to the dealer if you read the thread. :sleepy10:

I had the same problem, checked the connector and sure enough, it was pulled out. Plug it back in and the light is gone!

Thank you, Sir!
