Have you ever swapped a cam before?? It's basically that ... Ohh and a tune. And if you don't already have it a good free flowing exhaust and intake.

LT4 Hot cam is probably too big for a big 4 door, the operating RPMS may be a lil high for you.

It lists .525 lift with 1.6 rockers, you WILL need to check your clearances, Vortec heads need work to get lift that high. I bet you will need upgraded valve springs too ...

Anything over .460 lift you will need the valve guide bosses milled down.

Have you swapped a cam in the vehicle before?? Have you swapped a cam in a Gen 1 engine before??

About the only one you could get away with and not change anything other than needing a tune would be the RamJet cam
Lunati 60120, ZZ4 cam or something in that range would be better than the Hotcam in a truck application

get on fullsizechevy, performance trucks. guys doing lt4 hot cam all day long no problems. tells you exactly what there doing. springs, retainers and all the other goodies you need. how much it cost them and the works. from what i understand through many sources, its the biggest you can run without machining heads and all that good stuff. i put up the zz4 option on performance trucks and basically was laughed at. i feel like performance trucks typically has a more educated opinion imo. nothing against anyone on the this site...i obviously like this site as well. put if you want alot of info...check those two sites out.

Where are all the 1/4 mile times with these hotcam equipped trucks? All I ever see is idle videos and that's useless as far as performance is concerned. You got laughed at because they're all a bunch of LS leghumpers over there
