2025 Tahoe Steering column shroud removal?

Has anyone removed the steering column shroud on a 2025 Tahoe, or have any guidance on how to take off the lower section right under the steering wheel?

Im getting a click/tick sound from that area when turning the wheel to the right, sounds like a plastic or wire tick. I removed the upper shroud, but not sure how to remove the lower one.

Dont wanna go unless I really have to. Last time, for a single rattle they destroyed my center dashboard area with marring and scratches on my Kia.

I understand that feeling completely.

If you remove the shroud, I would ensure you have disabled the airbag.

You may want to take it to the dealer, take pictures prior, and have the advisor examine the shroud and surrounding area before the work to ensure they know there are no scratches or damage?

Could be just me, but if I spent 80-100K on a vehicle with a b2b warranty, I don't think I would try to fix stuff myself while the said warranty is in effect. Even for something potentially minor such as this.

Sure, it's a hassle to have to take the time to take it in, potential for damages and such, but still.

We had a similar issue with our ‘25 HC that was an intermittent rubbing noise due to a clearance issue with the steering wheel surround and it was resolved by my servicing dealer.

It was fairly quick as it was adjusted during my initial free oil change.

F the dealer they can’t even change the oil without breaking stuff. The scratched the shit out of my airbox when I brought my 2026 in for the first free oil change. Never again.

I’d only bring it in for something major like engine failure. If I can take care of it I will.
