I've got the rear door lights and footwell lights on the radar for my 06.

My plan was to harvest some rear door pass-through harness from the junkyard, then steal the matched pins and add them to my factory pass-through connector (there's extra spaces).

And just run the wire down to the fuseblock near the driver's side and tap into the factory wire.

Since we're bitchin-n-complainin, one of the things I miss from my 1997 suburban was a power door lock switch at the back of the vehicle that could lock and unlock all passenger doors from the rear hatch.

There's a certain slot in the ds fuse panel that you tap into that'll allow those footwell lights to fade out when the door closes.

I think the 00-01 barn door setup had the lock switch in the back.

Omg... why did I already suspect that was the answer? Oh because GM doesn't seem to have a rhyme or reason for a whole lot when it comes to engineering these things. I feel like they had about 100 engineers all working by themselves to come up with a part or section and they each had their own method of doing it. It's been a while for me, but when 1 door is opened all of the door lights come on right? Or are they each turned on independently with each door?

I just installed the courtesy lights in the rear doors of my 2004 Yukon XL. It was completely torn apart for sound deadening, insulation, and headliner. I went from the auxiliary panel in the driver side foot well across the harness to the passenger side and back to the driver side. There are holes for the pins in the door connectors and I just went through those with the wire. I tapped into the gray with black wire to get the power. I used the ground at the B pillar behind the panel. Doing it this way made them function as factory. If you go with the LEDs like I did be warned that they are super bright.

Some of the hoes and yukons and such, don't have the rear door lights. Just reflecting poop ins.
