Hello from Arkansas. We just purchased today a 2019 Yukon Denali 4x4 6.2 with 158,000 that will be my wife’s daily. I plan to do an oil and filter change tomorrow and am curious on the oil weight opinions from you guys. We have never owned a 6.2 until now but I have once owned a 2011 Sierra 5.3. I am curious if 5w30 or 0w40 is what you guys would run instead of the 0w20 it calls for? It’s been a mild winter here so far so nothing crazy cold ( highs ranging 60-30 & lows 30-teens) but it does always get hot here in the summer. I’ve always ran Castrol or Pennzoil in my other vehicles with no issues but open to best options. Thanks in advance.

you can go with 5-30 no problem, the only reason for 0-20 or thinner on the newer ones is to keep the epa happy
you can even get a filler cap that shows 5-30 in case you take it anywhere else to have it done.

Great, thank you! I always do my own oil changes but will definitely leave it to the pros when it gets more technical. I appreciate the feedback.

Thank you. It drove and sounded great on the test run. My wife also said it drove great on the 4 hour trip back home. She loves it already. Nice jump from her 2011 Buick Enclave.
