Wow, that trucks looks great underneath! Yes, all 4L60e on the GMT800 were the deep style pan, same as the filter. The corresponding deep pan filter has these 4 little divots or feet.

On transmission fluid replacement what I do is disconnect the cooler line at the top radiator, then slide a clear tubing into a bucket. I have a helper start the engine and then have them shut off the engine after the line starts spitting. That gets most of the old fluid on the converter. Drop the pan (usually will have about another quart of fluid remaining), replace the filter, clean the magnet and reinstall. Then add about 4 quarts of fresh fluid. After starting the engine add a few more, then check the fluid level. This is for the 4L80e, but should be the similar for the 4L60e.

Where are you located OP? I don't see any rust under there...

For a steaming pile of underpowered 5.3L, weak 4L60, 3.42 GMbullsh!t it's a great vehicle and we like it.

Each of GM's decisions against their buyer's market are a separate discussion (cough);
none of which change the fact that your Tahoe has a front central 3rd seat, which will always be far superior to not having one - GM got that one right.
It's underrated and underappreciated.
