I need to post up more pics. Until then, things I've done since acquiring it on Saturday, topped off brake fluid, checked fluids, took out the jvc and ordered a kenwood from crutchfield. Also ordered rear glass struts, third brake light (dorman), rear door reflectors, first and second row floor mats, and sunshade. Yesterday I got some fresh oil and new filter. I was surprised at how small the PF46 filter is. Since I don't know the history on this engine, I will run some motor purr tune-up in the crankcase before changing the oil to remove any sludge that may be in there.

I need to get a fluid transfer pump/extractor pump so I can do drain-n-fills of the transmission fluid, drive, rinse and repeat a few times, and then once it's clean, I'll drop the pan and change the filter and top off with new. Cooling system would benefit from a flushing and fresh coolant as well, but right now that is low on the list. Higher on the list is drain-n-fill the differentials and transfer case, check brake wear, and inspect the suspension.

Here is what I use:

And this scope is handy you can stick it in the valve cover for a sludge check:

Thanks for the links. I did find a 2.3 gallon capacity pump locally at the HF store, just need to go buy it. https://www.harborfreight.com/23-gallon-manual-fluid-extractor-62643.html

I do have a bore scope, my cool FIL gave it to me a few years ago. It's a bluetooth unit, and it can take pictures, a neat little camera/bore scope.
Cool yeah when you get that I used a measuring cup and filled it up 1 quart of water at a time and made measure marks with a marker on the side of that so I knew how much I was extracting.

Got it all installed tonight. It was getting close to dark, already had the headlamp on to see what I was doing. Headlamp is way better than a flashlight when it comes to needing both hands to work on stuff.

I was going to wait to plug in the stereo tomorrow, partly because dinner was ready and waiting. But, said effit, and plugged it, did a quick test, set the time, tuned a couple stations, made a crude adjustment to the bass, mid and treble.

Still need to finish setting it up, but we have an operating stereo!

To me, the interior just looks better with the floor mats in there, rear door reflectors installed, etc. And, the rear glass won't bash the top of your head like whackamole, it lifts easy and stays up our of the way.

Also, the weathertech sunshade fits the windshield perfectly, so it blocks lots of sunlight and heat.

Now, it's time to dig into the bigger items.
What stero did you get?
