So i did some work on my wife’s Tahoe. Here is the breakdown

2025 Tahoe high country 4x4
Whipple 3.0 super charger
BTR stage 2 cam
i also did some top end work like pushrods, etc.
Borla s type exhaust(will go on this weekend)

Now my question. I’d like to replace the factory air box. I like S&b but I’m not sure this could be done with the whipple. Has anyone or does anyone know of someone who has upgraded there intake? Thanks Brian

Thanks!!!I’m not concerned about warranty issues. Waiting for hp tuners to be able to crack my TCM. I unfortunately have one that they have not be able to crack yet.

You're not alone there on issues with cracking GM codes. Good luck!

Tell us about your current intake setup (not familiar with 2025 model year intakes). Is it currently a true cold air intake (intake air coming from somewhere other than the inside of the engine bay)? If it is, I don't see any reason to change it, unless you are doing it for the open hood aesthetics and looks.

It’s more aesthetics than anything. I have to change out the catch can with the ac on and not in recirculating mode it smells like fuel in the cab.

I’ll post a sound clip with the exhaust on this upcoming weekend. Just keep in mind I did do American racing headers. They are not long tube though.

I would ask Pax Power. The say that they have done hundreds off Whipple installs and are able to reprogram the ECU but I am not sure about the TCM. Likely have an opinion on the airbox.

Thank you but Paxpower uses the factory air box. I believe they also use HP tuners to unlock the ecu. They do some really nice work. I’d definitely choose them over Hennessy. I actually almost had Hennessy do mine. The main reason I chose not to use them was the AFM and the auto start stop. Also I wasn’t happy that they went from 700hp to 600hp in there builds. I understand why when all you do besides put a magnuson supercharger and chromoly pushrods in/on the engine. For there price point they do more to make a more reliable engine with 650-700hp and spend less on badging the car with there name.

Whipple told me to stick with the factory airbox also. I had the Momentum CAI from AFE but they said the factory box is a better fit. Put the K&n in the fatory air box and letit rip. All I did was dremmel out some of the extra plastic air baffling that sat against the fender and hot glued weatherstripping to the end to seal the box against the fender better. The sticky foam strip - what you would use to seal s set of attic steps when they fold up.

Under duress, I changed to a cold air intake when my 2003 Tahoe original air intake got too leaky and no factory replacement fitting that year would work at the time. It was much noisier due to the lack of the resonator box but the performance seemed unchanged to me. After a while I found out that a later model Tahoe air intake would fit mine and I went back to that for a much quieter ride. But some people like louder engines.

That's what Whipple told me as well. Original air box plus a K&N filter element.

Looking at the factory airbox versus the aftermarket air boxes, there doesn't seem much of a benefit to spend money for aftermarket. The factory looks like it is a very good intake system.
