Should I be concerned about buying a 2016 LT with 66,000 miles?
I am more than a little gun shy about the lifter/cam failure stories.
History is that it bought used from a dealer by older couple and not used much.
The second hand dealer purchase bothers me a bit too but it sounds like pop may be gone and descendant is selling it for mom.
Pictures appear very clean, shiny, nice leather, minimal undercarriage rust. $25K

Let me be blunt, it’s a 9 year old truck with low miles, that’s great.. but remember rubber rots, so you will need to invest into it… I’d do belts, hoses, tires, all fluids… it’s almost worse that it sat.. moved less then 500 miles a month…. Just my opinion

AFM is far more reliable in the LT engines than our old LS engines. Sure you can turn it off various ways. The mileage isn't high enough to have taken out the transmission either with that thermostat for the transmission cooler.

Can you see the oil change history?

I bought a 2013 Sierra when she was 9 years old with 75K miles. She's been near perfect. Yeah, like @LegalBrief says, there's been some cosmetic stuff replaced, the Oklahoma sun fogged up the headlamps.

Go for it!

$25K seems a little high in this market, but if it's really clean it may be worth it. Get that transmission pill flipped right away if you buy it. Then post pictures and give us a chance to help you spend some more of your money. :p

The 2016 is an LT engine?
I can certainly ask for the maintenance history but being previously bought 2nd hand might not make much of that available. I started the inquiry by asking when and where it was bought used.
We have an '08 that we are looking to replace and based on that I suspect the red one below for sale would probably be looking for brakes and possible front suspension work. Ours did back then.

If my wife saw that she'd ask me to buy it for her!

Yes, K2s use the Gen V LT engine. L83 for the 5.3. Great engines though more complex.

The L83 is a K2?
The L83 is the 5.3 engine used in the K2 platform. This engine carried over to the T1 chassis until replaced by the DFM variant, the L84.

Right now I have 193K miles on my 2016 Tahoe LT. AFM is still enabled. Knock on wood! Gets serviced every 5K miles. Still using 0w20 oil since new. I still get 24-25 MPG out on the highway. All on 87 regular fuel.

Replaced the transmission at 123K miles and A/C Condenser at 80K miles. Still have the original suspension plus everything else is original. Fluids and Filters are changed regularly.

Getting service records is a must! Having a good independent mechanic to check it out from top to bottom is a must also. Just IMHO!

I sill take it on long trips. Right now I am in NYC and going back to Miami in the next week or so.

For long distance the Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon is perfect. IMHO!

High mileage vehicles do not scare me. I generally find the higher mileage vehicles run a lot better then the low mileage ones. Of coarse I must see all service records. If none are available I walk away.

I agree that they are perfect size for traveling. I considered camping in the back of ours with two Labs but an historic cabin with beds came along in the area for several years.

I can appreciate the service record comment.
Unfortunately the second owner bought it from a dealer at 2 years old with 44k miles on it and and there may not be records for that part of it's life. But further investigation will tell.
