My Yukon has the faded hood and roof that a lot of Yukons and Tahoes get. I found a color matched hood at a local yard for $200 a while back. Made the truck look better. But you could still see the front of the roof where it faded and discolored. So this week I sanded the roof and masked off the truck for paint. I didn't get all the clear coat off but got fairly smooth. Since I wanted to do a quick job and thought of it as a temporary fix I used the Rust-oleum Turbo can of gloss black. Turned out ok. Pics look better than in person but the truck looks a lot better. Will see how long it last.

I actually painted my bumper and hood on my 99 back In the day with rust oleum and some spray clear and it came out pretty dang good for what it costed. It don’t hold up like normal paint against rock chips or a power washer when washing but it does the job!

I sanded the chrome front bumper and grill on mine. Primed and painted the grill the truck color. On the bumper I used Plasti dip and then the truck color.

it was a Dupli color spray can. Don't remember the name. Use to be in the parts stores but can't hardly find it now. From a distance it looked like it matched. But up close it was darker.

OK. WOW! I like that look. I am glad to see someone do this. My roof has the clear coat starting to peel off in some small spots. I like the black. I am not going to say that I am going to copy you, but ...

Looks a lot better than the faded paint and it was easy to do. You should do it. if I had to get the roof done by a shop I would like to just get the whole truck painted. I have a couple of deer dents in my left passenger doors that need repaired. I think this worked out good for a temporary fix. Probably will just leave it black even if I did get the truck painted.
