My climate control is stuck in full heat defrost mode. I can push the buttons for different vents and AC and it shows those modes on the screen but nothing happens. Is there a way to reset the climate control or do I need to replace the unit?

A new unit would have to be programmed to the vehicle. A used one with the same options as yours "might" be plug and play. Before doing that, make sure it's not your actuators, get the BCM codes. Then you'll know what's wrong and won't have to throw parts at it guessing.

I tried the various methods of resetting the actuators on YouTube without result. Going to the shop tomorrow.

4 days in the shop and still not fixed. Sounds like the control head (Their description).

OMG the saga continues. Replaced an Actuator only to realize that was not the problem. Next they replaced the climate control with a used part because they are obsolete. The fan motor would randomly cut in and out. Back to the shop for 2 more days. The climate control was no good. Replaced the climate control again with another used unit. Now AC doesn’t work. They decided the Freon had leaked out so they fixed a leak. Still no AC. Now they replaced a cold air sensor and guess what, still no AC. At this point Im about to declare this unfixable without throwing more money away.

Right after posting my rant yesterday the shop calls and says it’s all fixed. Perfect I go get the truck and the AC works. BUT can things ever be simple. Today the battery is 100% dead. I’m hoping it’s just a light left on and not a sign of bigger electrical troubles.

probably NOT a light on, these things time out after 10-15 minutes, like if you left a door open or left the lights on, etc....that all turns off. if something was plugged into the cigarette port, perhaps that would cause it.

Well the battery is 8 years old so getting a new one installed. I’m praying this is it for problems.
