Myorder for a 25 high country diesel was placed a couple weeks ago. I got confirmation from gm that my order was accepted. My estimated build date is the week of March 16.

I guess GM is different. When I custom ordered my Jeep. It did not go against dealer allocations for stocking units. It actually helps the dealer for the next year for allocations for stocking units.

Appreciate all the insights here. I'm about to place my order...any guidance on what you guys are paying relative to MSRP for custom orders? Dealer isn't budging, but would like a bit of a discount given certainty of sale for them. Thanks!

I wasn't offered anything of sticker on my Ultimate LZ0. They said the allocations for these are scarce and if you don't take it, we can sell it the same week for sticker or above... which "could" be true.
As with most dealerships, they played the card of "you are lucky to get it..."

That's a bunch of crap. Scarce. GTFO. Yet I can go to any Chevy or GMC dealer around me and find diesel pickups sitting on the lots. They might not give huge discounts 6-9 months from now, but I think they are also preying on those that buy as soon as they come out.

This is a ultimate YUKON LZ0 and yes they are rare as hens teeth....and this is a Tahoe Yukon topic forum that the order banks DID just open on, so why comment about PU trucks that aren't relevant....

I'm going to assume that you misinterpreted my post as some type of slight towards you, which is wasn't. I did a poor job of making my point. My comments were directed at the dealer that made those statements to you. Dealers who won't budge on price for customers rub me raw. Yeah, supply/demand, I know. Doesn't change the fact that some dealers will throw in a discount (no matter how small) while some have to be jerk offs that act like your dealer did. I've dealt with dealers (mutiple brands) that had that attitude (as I am sure most of us have) and I never bought another vehicle off them. I've walked out of many dealerships due to that attitude. Do they still have a job? Probably. But I don't care. I just know them and their hauty attitude aren't getting my money. Your post about the dealer not willing to throw any discount in took me mentally right back into the dealership. (Never a good idea to post when agitated). I will give my business to a dealer that is willing to treat me fair and not be dismissive towards me.

Anyway, I am glad you got to order what you want, but it is disappointing to me that your dealer has that attitude. Hopefully when you get it you have many years of problem free joy with it. And I look forward to any pictures you share with us.

Reminds me of my local Toyota with 30 Tundras on the lot. They still have their 5k dealer adjustment because the trucks are “hard to find”. I laughed and walked out. Phone lit up shortly after that, told em they don’t need my business since their trucks are such a hot commodity.

I am being told by multiple dealers in North Carolina that ordering for 2025 Tahoe/Suburbans w/diesel engine is still not open yet. Which dealers did you guys have luck placing an order with? (or in what state?)

Also, the online builder still forces you to remove the diesel (at least on High Country) when you try and add certain packages such as Super Cruise or Rear Entertainment, for ex.

For those that successfully placed an order: how did you navigate this with the dealer to figure out an actual configuration that can be built? does the new vehicle ordering manager have the capability and system access to figure this out?

Looks like Diesel can’t have super cruise at the moment.

Somehow the Yukon Denali can get that combo.

I’m not buying until it happens on the Tahoe.

You will never find a "String" of T/Y diesels on ANY lot. Most dealers don't order them since they assume and mostly correctly are right that most consumers don't want them.
I would have bought mine off the lot if it was avail in 21, but mine ended up being an order that someone backed out of, and I was just in the right place at the right time.

If you come to them and you want to order basically a loaded ultimate LZ0 unicorn, they have no reason to think "let's give this guy 10k off and a puppy, just for calling..."

Exactly what I am seeing across multiple dealerships in NC. The diesel cannot be ordered with Super Cruise right now and none of them know when it will open up, which is frustrating… just means more waiting.

Inquiry response from GM:

Super Cruise, a hands-free driver assistance feature for use on compatible roads, includes automatic lane changing and trailering capability The the reqquirements for the High Country trim levels are Requires 4WD model, (L87) 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine and either (PCU) Sun and Tow Package or (PDM) High Country Deluxe. Not available with (LZ0) Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel engine or (ATT) second row power 60/40 split-folding bench seats.

Crazy hard to understand. My dealer (Sales Mgr) in Texas ordered what I wanted letting me choose each option sitting next to him on his order desk. Yukon Denali 3.0 came with super cruise- no options. He would run the selections and the system would accept or decline and we would reconfigure to get an OK. It seems each platform has different packages with different available options. Do they make any sense, absolutely not. I assume they have sales nerds that think up this stuff to sell more high end or sell more options folks don't want.
Now talking about a string of diesels, last September when I begin my quest for a White Yukon Denali Diesel 2wd. San Antonio dealer had 5 sitting on the lot. But I wanted the LZO refresh so I'm still waiting.

I would suspect that bigger dealers in Texas would potentially have more diesels, since Texans probably more understand the demands of driving across a huge state and long distances and the value a diesel delivers. Fuel is cheaper there too. Also, 2WD models are a big no go in the north....

I truly do not get it. The 2024 Suburban can be configured with the prev. gen diesel and Super Cruise!

Guess the options are... 1) wait to see if the ordering situation changes with '25 Tahoe/Suburban diesel + super cruise, 2) go without super cruise (which wife wants), 3) roll the dice with the lifter issues on V8

Anyone have a contact at a dealer or GM that can get some insight into if this is temporary or expected for entire model year? If I knew it would eventually change and we just had to wait a few months, I could just reset expectations with the wife ;)

Talked with 2 different dealers In the DFW area on Saturday and neither of them was able to put an order in for me. Both said they couldn’t even put order in due to diesel availability. Any insight on when we can officially order diesel?

Has anyone successfully ordered an AT4 with the LZO? The configurator is quoting the LZO as being a $5K upgrade over the 6.2 and $10K over the 5.3 for the AT4. For the Elevation, the LZO is $5K more than the 5.3 and on the Denali, the LZO is $1K less than the 6.2. Whoever entered pricing into the configurator must have been drinking.
