While anything is possible, I guess I'm trying to see how realistic this request would be.

If a dealer has a vehicle I want, but that vehicle doesn't have the wheels that I want, how realistic is it for the dealer to acquire the wheels I want and swap them with the wheels on the vehicle?

Basically, I found a tahoe with 22s, but I'm looking for one with 24s (the ones with 24s are harder to find in the combo I want with the options I want). Could the dealer find the 24s (parts department) and swap them with the 22s?

Ignore the money aspect, for now, that's a different conversation, I'm just curious if dealers could do that and/or if it is common to do that to make a sale.

Having said that, has the dealer gone out of the way, for you, to close a sale? If so, what did they do?

If money is no concern, then it is a simple ask. Please quote a price on the accessory 24" wheels, P/N XXXXXXX. Also quote the required tires for these new wheels. If you give me a good price, I will close the deal.
You can then negotiate with the dealer on if he will buy the other rims from you, take them on trade, or if you keep them, you can sell them for cash.

Dealers swap wheels/sell accessory wheels all the time on trucks, not sure why it would be different on SUV's. Ask.

You can also go to chevrolet.com, shop, accessories, and buy your wheels that way. Often they have coupons/promos if you spend a certain amount you get 10-15% off. Be worth having that number in your head when you talk to the dealer...so you know where to negotiate from.

It's not that money isn't a concern, I was just leaving money out of it since it would just be something that is part of the negotiation. I was more asking if it was common or not. I've never negotiated swapping out wheels.

The other issue is that I can't find the particular wheel on any GM part site, but I know there has to be a way to buy the wheel. I don't have a part number, I only have a description of the wheel.

24-inch RF2 wheel on 2025 Tahoe/Suburban High Country

Do you know where I can find that part number?

I could have sworn I checked there and couldn't find them, I will check right now.

Edit- Yeah, that site looks familiar, I've checked there, they don't have the 24 x 9 wheel. I went to wheels and tires and sorted by highest price to lowest price and I don't see anything 24 x 9 listed.

I don't see any 24s listed for 2025 tahoe.
crop a image of the wheel in question and do a google lens search, that should give you a path to finding the wheel part number.

Go to chevrolet.com, click shop

Then Click Accessories

Click Accessories again, then pick wheels and wheel components

Got it, thanks. Seems like there are a couple of ways to get the site to display results for wheels, but I was able to replicate what you saw.

I guess they aren't selling them online, yet. I'm not sure why they wouldn't list those 24s.

I wonder what the parts department would see if they did a search?

Are those the ones you are looking for? They are the factory 24" Option if you buiild w/ 24's on an High Country.
Those are not accessory wheels...I am sure there is a P/N for them, and I am sure they could be ordered, but you probably need the dealer's part's counter to help you out.

Ok, so like I said, those are not accessory wheels (meaning you can’t just order them.). They may be able to order them at the parts counter. Only other option is express that you want them…may have to order the vehicle that way…or maybe they will swap foe you.

I'm not looking to place an order, at this time, but swapping is something that came to mind which is what prompted me to start this thread.

I'll give the parts department a call tomorrow or Monday and see if they can find a part number for "24-inch RF2 wheel on 2025 Tahoe"

Yes. Might be a wait on the wheels to come in and it might be part of the sale but would go on an “IOU.” The wheels would then either be shipped to you or you may have to pick them up. They will likely want to truck purchased quickly versus waiting for them to come in for the sale.

Dealers can be accommodating when it’s within their “reasonable” power. I got new tires as part of my purchase and I asked for the new BFG KO3s. They were about $300 more than the credit they allowed but they said it was ok and did it to close the deal.

On the Chevrolet website when building a Tahoe/Suburban the 24” rims you’re after are available to add as an option.

IMG_6501.jpeg

They are a $2,225 wheel option. Keep in mind I had the Suburban High Country already selected which comes standard with 22” rims. The $2,225 adder is on top of the 22” rims that come standard.

When you go to add them to the vehicle they require a bunch of other options as a “package” that add a total of $6,560 worth of options to the vehicle purchase.

Personally I think you would be setting yourself up to be let down if you think you can get a dealer to procure these 24” rims for no additional charge as a negotiation to close a sale. If they were an extra $500, maybe. Dealers don’t make much margin off new vehicle sales it’s all made on pre-owned vehicle sales and service. But hey the worst they could say is no.

It would be realistic that they may offer you a deal by trading in the 22” rims that come on the vehicle you buy as credit towards the purchase price of the 24” rims.

It may also be very possible that those particular 24” rims are not available unless the dealership happens to have a similar vehicle on the lot with the $6,560 package added to its build that includes the rims. If that is the case the dealership may ask for more than the $2,225 for the 22” to 24” wheel trade.

The 24” rims definitely have an OEM GM part number. The question is can they be purchased by themselves through a GM OEM parts dealer.

There are a couple brand new take offs listed on eBay reasonably priced per rim compared to getting through a GM dealership.

Also in one of the eBay auctions there’s a pic of the back side of the rim with a number stamped into it;

GM 84949593

That might be the part number but a quick google search of “GM 84949593” does not appear to bring up anything related to that 24” rim.
