Looking for either a Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra, K2500, 8 lug, Ext cab or Crew cab, leather or cloth interior, 6.0 engine, 4L80E, stock height in either silver, pewter, white, black or dark blue/indigo. If has a broken exhaust manifold bolt or 2, ends only, I can deal with that via the exhaust clamps made for that. 125k miles or less preferred with meticulous repair and maintenance records. No dents but a scrape or 2 is ok. NO! sun/moon roof. Needs to be close enough to PNW to be feasible. If I find the right one, I will be selling my Tahoe Z71. Pics appreciated and a CarFax. No accidents unless is very minor and no air bag deployed. Thanks for any help.

If you would’ve posted a year ago my nana had a 99 gmc 2500hd with the 8.1 and the Allison and 14 bolt rear
It was loaded all but a sunroof and white with the chrome accents on the steps fenders and bumpers it was super clean and only had like 135,000 miles my buddy got it and 3 months later totaled it into a culvert bad enough he trashed the powertrain in the wreck I was so outdone

Umm...those (2500HDs) came out in 2001...

1999-2000 they only made 1500s and non-HD 2500 (still had 8 lugs tho & 4L80e.)

Edit: obviously talking GMT800, if it's not apparent.

Oh, then there's the 1500HDs (those were real 3/4 ton trucks, just GM marketing tricking consumers because those were the only crew cab trucks they made at the time, so they needed a "1500" to compete with Ford and Dodge on the crew cab option.)

Ok, I will change the years. Thanks.
Actually, I forgot to mention...

2007 Classic (or some people call them 2007.5) is still GMT800.

If you are not going to be going to the maximum GVWR and want a crew cab, I would include the 1500HD in your search. Those had a GVWR of 8,600 lb vs 9,200 lb for the 2500HD. They are really the same frame, just had like 3.73 gears. I know you mentioned 4.10s tho.

Because the GMT 800 2500HD basically matched the previous generation C/K 3500 SRW of GVWR of 9,200 lb, they apparently didn't make a lot of 3500 SRW GMT 800s. But they are still out. Include those as well in your search...

Clear as mud?

I hope this helps :)

8600 GVWR is my wheelhouse and would be happy with 3.73 gear and do have my eye on a K1500HD 8 lug. Gotta go see it within next 2 days to get all other details.

Read this article: https://www.motortrend.com/news/chevy-1500hd-2001-2006-crew-cab-half-ton/

Nothing on these trucks are "half-ton." LQ4, 4L80e, 8 lug PYOs with LT tires, front torsion bar front suspension (both 2wd and 4x4), deep frame rails, 14 bolt rear axle with disc brakes, hydro boost, high payload. I call them "fake half tons."

I just edited my original posting from 200k miles to 125k miles, for allowable mileage on the truck. I found this truck up in Portland area and awaiting answers back to my questions.

WOW! Looks brand new!

...are you on your way?!
My weekend is completely open and can drive up there with my girl with cash in hand. BUT, I need answers to some questions.

I texted and asked: Pics of engine compartment, paperwork for repairs and maintenance, CarFax, where has it spent it's life and pics of RPO sticker in glove box.

Just talked to the owner. Gonna go look at the truck on Monday, after he sends me the requested pics today. The truck has no rust. Spent it's life in Oregon.

He sent pics. 4 exhaust manifold bolts broken, 2 center, and dent at d/s rear bed above tire. For that price, I do not want dents or have to pull exhaust manifolds for bolt repair/replacement.

Well, hell, I give up. I cannot find a decent one within 100 miles. They are either rode hard and put up wet, no paperwork and high mileage or lifted. If I even get close to finding one, Silverado or Sierra, they want way way way too much. I am just gonna lay in the weeds and wait for the perfect time.

Broken exhaust manifold bolts... that's pretty normal. Wouldn't shy away from that at all.

Dents, dings, paint fading is a tougher sell.

I'm also looking for a similar truck to replace my old K3500. Similar observations here: either these trucks were used heavily (and are pretty worn out) or very well taken care of (maybe a few scratches and dings over the years) for asking prices pretty high. Pristine survivors are rare, and very high prices.

In my price range I'm looking at either doing mechanical work, and/or body work. Our sun is brutal on paint out here, but at least no rust to deal with...

Am familiar with the weather there. My girl's daughter lives in Euless, Tx.

The end exhaust manifold bolt breakage can be taken care of with the clamps that are available. The center ones cannot use the clamps. Manifolds have to come off to gain access and if broke below flat surface have to attempt to drill or have to pull heads. No, I do not want to do that.

A small price to pay for an otherwise well-maintained truck, IMHO. No vehicle this age will be perfect.
