Hi All,

I have Tahoe 2011, at park or neutral when engine reach @4000 RPM , the engine start the hesitation for 4 times then goes down to the idle RPM


there is no check engine light

Rev limiter - nothing is wrong with your Tahoe.

But my friend has the same car Tahoe , its not like that

@StephenPT is correct, it is a rev limiter. Is your friends Tahoe the same year? The same engine. Had any tune work done? Plus, what made you rev to 4000 rpm while in park or neutral and hold it there long enough to have all this happen?

Exactly - what's the point in reving it beyond 4K rpm? Are you trying to achieve something by doing this? If it runs fine when you're driving it and can go above 4K rpm when it's going through its gears without hesitation/issue, then don't worry about it.

I really don't understand some people's thinking with a situation like this. It's like they want to damage something because someone else's rig does this or that. Oh well. it's not my vehicle, it's just an answer to a question he/she asked. What they do with that info is up to them.

All of u are right , but the point is that i have changed my engine 3 days ago , and im checking all things,
the engine is under guarantee and i want to check all the parameters

But you did not say any of that to give us context. All we got up front was half the story. Cannot read minds.

yes there is a rev limiter on the gmt900's it is set at 3500-4000 rpm (in park or nuetral)
it can be disabled with a tune or canned tuner which your friend may have done already or it was previously done.
it is unlikely you would harm anything revving it up past 4000k, I have mine disabled so it revs to 6k, no harm-no foul
everyone has there own opinion.
just don't drop it into gear from high-rev is my advice, lol otherwise you might be relplacing the transmission
