I am 98% sure that you can program your new key fob from the radio or DIC, unlike the older times where a special machine was needed to program the keys.

For the same price on eBay I can get this fob which I like, will my existing key fit inside this fob? If not, that would be alright as key can just hang out with the other keys xd

Fob in question part number is 84540864 and I want to be certain that it’ll work on my 2018 tahoe

I suggest that you go to a local locksmith and purchase it there and get it programmed to your truck. You'll be in and out in about 15 minutes or less.

That fob is simply a fob no key in it, you attach a key to it with the key ring. you might be mistaking that for a flip-out or button release type key fob.
and I have doubts that it could be programmed yourself, that's very questionable and probably depends on if you have a working fob already or not. I know it takes 2 working keys to add more yourself, fobs though not sure.

not 100% but i know the silverados supposedly need a tech 2 or the obd2 tool that programs them. however i still agree with above go spend the extra and get a known good fob and 0 hassle.

I have two working factory fobs, It’s just one for F.u.b.a.r’d and has a Chinese housing and the other the rubber is rotting off of it lol

I would rather have the keyless fob that I posted I just don’t know if it uses the same frequency as my truck FOB. I guess I’ll buy it and use my uhf frequency’s counter.
