My first car was a 1999 Toyota Camry, 6 and a 5 speed manual trans. Mom paid it off after being upside down on a 2000 GMC safari AWD van that my dad dumped on her in their divorce that she absolutely hated. After she bought her 4x4 montero limited she kept the Camry to give to me as my first car when I turned 16. Don’t have pic of that one unfortunately but that little car was rad. Learned to drive manual first and I’m so thankful for that! Unfortunately that car was not good for the 4-5 months out of the year that we get snow up here. Lol.

My first bought car that I bought my self was a 1999 dodge Dakota 3.9L V6 4x4, was not a quad cab Dakota but had a extra cab backseat. Had 57k on the odometer when I bought in June of 2009 going into my senior year of high school. Totaled in may of 2012 and was so sad to sei it go. Only had 70k and I was just getting into modding at that point, and the truck was absolute immaculate condition.

Went from the Dakota to a 2001 Durango limited 4.7L V8 4x4. Was a great ride. Had roughly 135 on the odometer when I bought it. Had every option they offered for that year, full Lethe to Teri or that wa sun great shape when I bought it and front seat heaters. That was my favorite part lol. Modded but not too heavily. Owned from May of 2012 through February of 2015. Sold with 179k on the odometer.
Used the money from selling my Durango as the down payment for my 2006 Yukon XL Denali. Owned the denali from February of 2015 to current. I miss both the Durango and the Dakota. Would love have another Durango but an R/T package with the 5.9L V8 and the AWD transfer case that also had 4Hi and 4Lo ranges in the transfer case. A high school friend had one and I actually drove it for a bit in April of 2016 and that ride was fun to drive. Handled just like my Durango but man that thing was quick on its feet! Lol.

I'm 70 years old and I've had many many cars and Bikes through the years. My first car was a 1960 Austin Mini Cooper, Fun Car. Then I graduated up to Camaros, Road Runners and FireBirds. Some of those cars i didn't appreciate then and today they are worth big bucks.....:(

My first was an 86 Grand AM, too!

My buddy and I took the "Am" off all the badges, cut the a & m apart and glued them back on so the car said "Grandma" all around. Lots of good laughs from people at red lights!

I just put up my daily driver for sale today. Just got my Denali Suburban back from the paint shop and don't need 2 SUVs. Was using it as a Bike trailer Hauler.

robgreg75 Love the pics of your rides especially the Lambo. The best part is the sticker on its window, looks like you may be in the Hill Country, if so you have a lot of people to convert. WTG

It's curious to me that the SS Camaro got the Rock Crusher and the Z28 had the wide ratio Muncie. My buddies '70 Z28 split bumper had a 302 with the M22. Was a lot of fun to whip around the neighborhood.

Back in the 70s I got to drive my friend's 70 Nova powered by a DZ302 with the factory cross ram dual 4bl, M22 & 4.88 gears. Boy could that motor hit those high notes.

I'm currently building a resto-mod 1973 split nose Camaro with a LS3 + 6 speed manual combo.

Back when I ordered 1969 Chevelle you had to pick that option if you were interested in manual between 3spd which it would come stock with a manual automatic was extra. You could get M20 Wide ratio M21 close ratio or the m22 Rock Crusher.

I guess my memory is fading with the passage of time, thought the M21 was the wide ratio and the M22 was the close ratio and the M20 was more pedestrian.

M20 and M21 were helical cut gears and M22 was what they called straight cut gears which made them stronger but noisier that's where the word rock crusher.Back in day with large slicks they wanted close ratio M21 for best hole shot with tall tires. So yes, M22 was close ratio and M20 was more normal driving.

Ahh, that's right! Boy, I haven't thought of such things in decades! I went through a box in the garage today which was full of things from way back when, brought back a lot of memories long forgotten.
