Wanted to see a set of these clear. I’ve never seen a cleared set. So I cleared a set lol. Pretty crazy looking , again doesn’t flow on my truck imo. Would look good on a white or silver or black truck

Damn, you’re getting pretty good at this. Ever thought about setting up an eBay storefront and sell one-off lights or made to order stuff? You could start in your spare time or time between jobs and see where it goes. You might be able to make pretty good money at it.

This is kind of a trial run. I don’t personally want these on my truck but I’ve seen so many pickup people asking for them. This is actually the first place anybody has seen these tails.

Most of these were baked or cut open with a dremel . Got tired of doing that so I splurged on an ultra sonic cutter. Worth its weight in gold. Works like a charm.

I looked into one of those when I was going to open a set of permaseal headlights but iirc they’re kinda spendy. Something I’d buy if I was going to do it for a living. Have they come down in price ?

Not at all, still $500 for the cheapest Chinese cutter. Feel like these were cheap at one point but then headlight retrofitters started using them and the supply and demand rule went into effect, not much to them at all. Seen a YouTube video of a guy taking one apart , super simple design.
Worth it if you cut open a lot of lights yes, but I was saying worth it as just a hobbyist. I can see a ton of little detailed uses for this thing.
I think about how many lenses I’ve cracked and would’ve saved had I had this little unit

Ouch. “Move to Arizona , it’s sooo cheap” they said lol. The most I’ve ever personally paid for fuel in my life. I’ve obviously have filled up freightliners, kenworths, and other trucks but never this much for my personal vehicle. Oh well not much I can do, gotta drive so I have to pay either way.
Added something to the truck, can you tell what it is?….

When I 1st got my Tahoe I was on the hunt for a set, but changed my mind. How do you think it would look if they were painted? Too much blue?
That’s the part I’m on the fence with , feel like it would clash with the two tone unless I two tones the flares too but would that look weird ? Never seen it done before

:hmm: neither have I.......interesting....I don't think 2 tone flares would be a good look--but that's just my opinion.

I think it'd look like those cheesy full stick-on kits from the 90s. The ones everyone's grandpa had on their "Show Trucks USA" edition Silverado where the fender flares and running boards were all one color.

Something like this:

I think you might be able to pull off blue (have Photshop?), but the black is the safest bet.

What about the flares all in the silver?
That’s more common I see when people paint the flares on a two tone. Idk it’s far down my list depending on how I eventually colormatch this thing so for now they’ll just stay oem.
