So I finally had the klearz lenses glued on the housings with the custom 03+ 194 marker light at the bottom….and I hated the look. So I sold them.

So I originally might 2 sets of the klearz so I have one set left. Bought some spyder altezza lights this time for donor housings and worked out much better. Not only did the clear lenses come off easy but I can use them for my black led housings in the future. Plus these housings are a chrome finish as opposed to the high gloss silver of the last set. The chrome looks much better imo. The silver is more og oem style. Still not my cup of tea for my truck but I’ll hold on to them for a bit, I have some ideas I wanna try out.

You can see the difference. Oem Silver on the left , chrome on the right. I did paint the border of the silver housings. The chrome housings I left black only cause there’s no way for me to match the chrome.

Removed the yellow film from the led fog housings. There was a ton of residue so I used goof-off. Not a wise choice because it destroyed the lens.
So I tried to restore them and also restore the super pitted oem ones. Was patient and used denatured alcohol to remove the rest of the left over adhesive (what I should’ve used in the first place but I was in a rush)
Great success!

So I got a 05-06 4wd lip but needed a 05-06 valance which is exactly the same as the 03-04 except the later model has clips to accommodate the lower lip. Also the come in the option of black.
2wd came with a 2” lip , 4wd came with a 3” lip
Also swapped the fog lights to oem .

Neither the valance nor the lip nor the clips were oem so everything came together like crap but it is what it is. The clips wouldn’t hold worth ashit so I went to ace hardware and just bought $30 in bolts, nuts, and washers. If I used the clips that valance would’ve flown off on the first freeway trip at 75 mph. The lip was all wavy but again it is what it is, not noticeable to anyone but me and now all of you lol. I have plans for a one off lip at some point.
Got a personalized plate. Back in 2016ish when at the time my 2 yr old niece learning how to talk couldn’t say Tito (Filipino Tagalog for uncle)(also same in Spanish), so instead she called me toto. It stuck and that’s what everyone calls my now on the wife’s side. On my side they still call me Dave lol .
So I removed the plastic screw plugs in the bumper and got bolts with a flat smooth head to prevent theft.

Blower motor resistor went out , no surprise there. Only worked on the high position. Bought an ac delco unit off Amazon, ended up being the wrong one. I was up in Alaska and couldn’t get back to az to return it in time. $50 down the drain. It plugged in but it wouldn’t line up with the mounting holes. The design was just barely off. Idk how many different kinds there are but there seems to be quite a few. So I order another ac delco one off eBay, again the wrong one. I matched up and confirmed the part numbers when I ordered both and neither fit. So I was able to return that one and got my $50 back. Went to autozone to see what they had in stock and maybe match it up to to my old one in hand instead of using pics. Dude checked the computer and went to the back to grab it and it was the wrong one. He checked again , and again , and again. Till about on the 7th or 8th and last resistor he had in stock finally matched up. Duralast brand , only $30 and a longer warranty. Fit right in and I had ac back with all my settings. This was in March so it was just in time for summer.
Removed my hitch for a cleaner look.

Awesome work man. Lights, bumper and ditch the hitch. Sweet!!

Keep up the good work and don't let the hiccups in the road on your journey get you down. Keep powering through. Plenty of support from afar with the TYF as needed.

I added the newish lower air dam to my 03. I drilled small holes in the valance, then used zip ties to hold it on, and its been fine--so far. Can't even see them.
That’s the 05/06 Tahoe lip. Little different than the 05/06 Silverado. I had one on the Tahoe too and that was zip tied on because it wasn’t made for the z71 valance. I still zip tied this one just for piece of mind, even with the correct valance it sits loose. But the oem valance that came with the truck was beat up anyway and the tow hook holes were cut open more to accommodate for the towing system for towing behind a motor home.

Some pics from a Phoenix trip. Spent some time at Tempe Town Lake, beautiful area, pretty iconic spot for taking car/truck pics. Spur of the moment paddle boat rental for the sunset. This was in January so it was a little chilly

I’ll be going back and posting some other little miscellaneous mods , bouncing around at different time frames so don’t be alarmed when you see the truck in different random stages. I just wanted to get the drop and led cluster fiasco posted and done with.
Added built in led door lights . These suckers are crazy bright

Led unit on drivers side vs 194 bulb on passenger side
I put those door lights in The Beast, they’re super bright for sure.

Another idea I had was to wrap the B pillars in gloss black, but just on the doors to give the illusion of a longer and more proportionate looking window, it came out good. Added a reverse camera. Not a great picture. Think I might have a bad ground. And it’s monsoon season here, thunder and rain almost everyday. This was a screenshot from an actual video. I hate snow but I love the rain and thunder.
