In waiting for Chevy chat this morning , I went back to my build for a Tahoe LT. The base price went up $1500. I wonder if I'll get stuck with that? My order is at 3000 as of last week.

Are you guys seeing this on "Build and Price"? I'm not seeing any price differences for either my Suburban or Yukon XL builds, but maybe they just haven't rolled it out to all regions yet. That would be quite a sizable price increase right before the new model year if true....

Yes, on build and price for 2022 MY.

UPDATE: looks like it is reflecting previous pricing now. Maybe someone accidentally applied 23 pricing to the 22 builds..

all depends on your relationship with your dealer...some have said that the buyer "should" only have to pay based off the MSRP when ordering. A couple grand I'd probably have a talk with the salesman about it.

our Z71 tahoe went up about $700 from Jan to April...we were paying sticker and didn't want to rock the boat over $700 so honestly didn't even ask about the price increase.

My opinion is that this is something that needs to be in writing when ordering...have the dealer sign something saying the price would be based off the original MSRP and not the MSRP when it's built...my guess is most dealers would balk at this though

i have a photocopy of the order with pricing on it for when we ordered it (still preordered, no allocation as of yet) so unless ours becomes a 23 before being built, I won't pay more than that.

The build & price went back to what is was. I checked this afternoon. My guess is maybe MY2023 pricing increases. Sounds like quite a bit though.

If you placed your order in Feb or before - expect the MSRP to have increased...below is a screenshot from both our Workbench order in Jan and then our window sticker from the end of March...if you placed an order in the fall I believe there was also a price increase back in the Oct/Nov timeframe...

could be worse, some brands are implementing price increases almost every month...

I'm interested to see if what Target/Walmart were reporting today that caused the markets to take a dive eventually makes it way to vehicle prices.

agreed.

msrps probably won’t go down, but rebates may become a thing again.

some of the price increases make it tough to see how they’ll be sustained.

ordered a ram 3500 in dec…MSRP was $73,120, sticker ended up being $75.9k in feb, and the same truck, in a 2022 - not 2023, lists for $78k now…almost unbelievable…and this truck didn’t even have leather in it

All that remains to be seen. I guess the real question is between now and the end of 2022, will demand or supply fall off faster?

Main Street is certainly taking it on the chin from inflation, but it now seems like Wall Street is taking some jabs as well.

I personally don't see the price increases as being sustainable.

My 2022 Z71 build went up 1600 from yesterday. I placed order in Feb, it increased approx 750 since then and now this jump as well. Still awaiting allocation with no price protection. **** GM...hoping the new Sequoia comes out and is in my price range instead.

I would gather they are doing price increases now, and will do so again for the MY23 when it comes out. Inflation is crazy right now. They dont have to do price increases as they make a pretty penny on their truck and suv sales as it is, but will use inflation as an excuse to jack prices up again.

if you have a retail SOLD order, you should have price protection. Retail Stock order not so much

other way around...retail sold would be custom order

assuming price protection actually was locked in when the order was entered, would be interesting to see how many dealers 1) voluntarily offered the vehicle at the ordered price vs the window sticker, 2) if any buyers questioned the price increase and was able to get the dealer "back down" to the ordered price
