I hope they do a better job on the chevy/gmc websites to give a more "true feel" for what these colors are..... a couple of them on their build site do NOT correlate to how good they actually look, which I am sure hindered sales for some colors. There was a blue/green-ish one for the 21 that was discontinued for the 22 yukon, that digitally looked nothing like actual pictures from the board here.

Each to their own, but I had high hopes for the silver sage until I looked it up and noticed that the traverse offered it for the 22MY

Yeah, thats my guess also, but my wife was so indecisive about picking the color and stressed out over it that I would prefer to not have her need to do that again. she had 3 colors she was waffling about and landed on the satin steel. the dark ash metallic was another and they evergreen gray was the 3rd.... so she's gonna have to probably stress over it again. If you are wondering why she will stress, its because the last vehicle i picked, decided on the options and color as well and she told me that this one she was going to pick. so it has been all her for it. i have given my thoughts but her decisions at the end of the day. after we placed our order she told me, NEVER AGAIN does she want to decide..... too much stress for her.
well, at least dark ash is still an opion :)

Looks like I’ll need to push pause on my order. Hunter Metallic is going away and unless they retrofit I’m not paying 80k for a vehicle without adaptive cruise

FWIW, the trucks won't have supercruise retrofitted...

Buzz kill for sure. We almost went with evergreen gray on our 22' but played it safe w/ satin steel because we were never able to see evergreen gray in person. We are considering ordering a 23' and were still considering evergreen gray if we were able to locate a used tahoe/yukon/surburban we could at least see first. Silver sage is definitely out though. Hopefully sterling gray is nice otherwise we might just stay put.

Sometimes best way to do a color check is look for other models with the same color that got into production earlier. Traverse and Enclave got the sterling I think. Sierra got the titanium rush. Keep eyes open. Pretty good videos on Sierria ultimate in titanium rush from Chicago Auto Show on YouTube.

I got satin steel, and every time I see a white one, I second guess my choice. Done now, and it does look good with my boat.

Yep. Most of the gm lines are getting their own instance of the same color for 23. Titanium Rush, Silver Sterling and Volcanic Red.

I am with you on the Adaptive Cruise. The dealer called me last night and said I will likely be pushed to the 2023 MY, and I told him if the Adaptive Cruise and Max Tow are not available to put it on hold. My wife said we need to start looking at other brands as she doesn't believe GM is able to deliver. She is trying to be understanding of shortages, but cutting options and offering $50 for it isn't worth the removal.

My opinion is that, at the end of the day, 1/2 ton based full size SUVs are interchangeable and the options from different manufacturers will improve significantly by the end of 2022.

Know of any other 1/2 ton based SUVs that can get ~28mpg cruising down the highway, comfortably seat a family of seven along with a Bob double stroller and a full size coleman cooler in the back for ~$60K? I don't. I wouldn't be on this forum and waiting on a Yukon XL Duramax if someone else made something comparable.

Would you not buy a 1/2 ton based SUV at all because it wasn't able to get 28mpg on the highway?

Would only being able to achieve 20mpg on the highway change your mind about needing the space and utility from a 1/2 ton based SUV? Also depending on the area you live in, diesel could be significantly more expensive than gas.

What did you use prior to GM putting the LM2 into a 1/2 ton full size SUV in 2021?

I'm really interested in seeing GM's LZ0 in a 1/2 ton full size SUV in 2024 but the 6.2L gas is fine as well. Although I could see the LM2/LZ0 being more of a requirement for someone that is going to be towing lighter trailers frequently up and down significant declines. The exhaust braking function in tow/haul mode would be incredibly useful. But that's about the only use case where I may require a diesel because the rest is more of a running cost problem.

That was my point.

As of yesterday, diesel and 87 are back within 10 cents of each other, and premium for the 6.2L is more expensive. You need to have more than a dollar per gallon delta for it to be close, and that is only based on the EPA MPG ratings. Real world the LM2 out performs the EPA ratings and the gassers rarely do.

Currently my family is in a Honda Pilot. We want a 1/2 ton based SUV for both the interior cargo/people volume and the towing capability. I would prefer to own either a Honda or Toyota product, but since Honda doesn't have a 1/2 ton SUV, the first rig we looked at was the Toyota Sequoia. It didn't bother me that it has only received minor updates since 2008, but what did bother me was the ~13mpg we would be getting on a good day with the 5.7L V8. On top of that, the cargo volume behind the 3rd row is not much more than what our Pilot offers. I waited to see the redesign of the Sequoia and that put the nail in the coffin for us. No significant gain in cargo volume and solid rear axle makes the 3rd row seating ergonomics as bad as the previous generation Tahoe.

The next rig we started researching was the Ford Expedition Max. There's a lot of things to like about the interior of the Expedition, but after spending a few months on the Expedition forums, Ford has some serious problems with the cam phasers on the 3.5L EB and in general it seems like there's more significant problems people are having with the Expeditions.

I'm not looking at the Grand Wagoneer because I'm not going to spend that kind of money on a car. That leaves us with the Yukon XL/Suburban platform. GM certainly has their issues and isn't the perfect car company, but they have the biggest 1/2 ton SUV on the market with an engine that will get better fuel economy than our Honda Pilot.
