How do I get the radio to stop switching sources automatically. The car always reverts to CarPlay when it connects. CarPlay is also always not stay connected and so when it connects and reconnect it switches. 22 Yukon XL

I do not have this issue. My vehicle goes back to whatever it was playing when I turned it off. Suggest deleting your phone from the vehicle and the vehicle from your phone and setting up again

Another user mentioned after he started selecting the source using the steering wheel controls, his vehicle remembered where he left off.

My wheel controls will change the volume on the right and the stations/presets on the left... How do you get it to change sources?

Use the left/right arrows on the right side of the steering wheel until the music icon/currently playing station/song are visible
Then press the sleect wheel on the right side of the steering wheel
Then roll the select wheel to the desired source
Then press the select wheel

Interesting, I never used any of the front of the wheel controls to try to operate the radio. I only used the toggle levers on the rear of the wheel. Did not know that any of the front buttons did anything. I will check it out next time in the vehicle.

Not to sound like a jerk, but spending some time reading the audio section of the owners manual is worth the investment…actually the whole owners manual is useful to read. I’ve read every page of mine. Downloaded it before my vehicle arrived and read a chapter a night until I read it all. Then have referenced it again a few times since. There are features I wouldn’t have otherwise found/known about…

FYI, it's gotta be an Apple bug. Today, when driving to lunch, my radio was on FM when I exited the car in the morning. Get in at lunch time, it switches to Car Play. I used steering wheel controls, navigated to FM, radio started playing, 15 seconds later, CarPlay as the source again, change to FM, 15s later, back to CarPlay. Use infotainment screen to switch source to FM, 15s later, back to CarPlay.

Surfing web, found several articles/references to this issue, not only on GM vehicles:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252349057 (this one implies maybe Waze is to blame, will try killing Waze on my phone, although I didn't think it was running)

There are more...anyway...will try killing Waze and report back. Good luck all.
