Trying to make the call here. I want to get some LED tail lights but can't make the decision to get black, smoked or red. My 09 z71 is black/black and has a stock stance with the stock tires and wheels. It will probably stay this way for the foreseeable future so I am thinking the red would be best. Black or smoked with an otherwise stock looking z71 might look goofy. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Nice. Those are red G4 led tails? Did you do the third brake light too?

They're the G3s, which appear to be the same as the G4s. Nah, I didn't do the third brake light. I think it's so close in appearance that I can't be bothered. LOL

if your truck is black, I don't think black taillights look goofy if its stock. mine is stock and I did my taillights black, and I made black housing headlights.

I also want to get LED taillights but I am going to black them out also. I found these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/07-0...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories I was wondering if anyone has had these? How good are they?

I haven't seen a tutorial for doing them. I have done several black housings. Take them apart with a heat gun, sometime with a hair drier, and paint the chrome flat black. Not that hard, just a little time consuming.

Yes, there is. Do a search for "Joey headlight mod." The headlight blackout has been referred to as the "Joey mod" around here -- but, I think it's on other forums (like a Caddy forum, etc.), too.
