I have one of these on my 2012 Denali and picked one up for my 2001 Yukon but decided not to install it because I don't do oil changes on it anymore. My son takes that vehicle with him to college and he takes it somewhere to get the oil changed.
On my GMT900 6.2 Denali, the area isn't recessed so it doesn't require the adapter/extension. On the GMT800 5.3 Yukon it does. So I'm not sure what years/models the adapter extension is required due to the recessed area at the drain plug.
