So, i'm still new to HID's. I searched over the forum for this topic but could not come up with anything. My dad and I were thinking that our bulbs/headlights could use something better than just halogen bulbs. He works out of town and his lights aren't bright enough. SO i saw someone talked about these and started to take a look at HIDs.

They look decent and cheap. And i told him that 5000k was good because Not yellow and not that blue, but like a white bluish glow. Can anyone that has used them confirm that these are good for the price? And, which one would be better, 33w or 55w?

We have a 99 Yukon if that helps.

they would work, its actually 35w, not 33, 55w is for a more powerful electric setup. the slim ballasts are also waterproof. if im not mistaken the 99 yuk takes 9006 for the low beams.

whats the pricing on those?

the 35w are 49.95 for 9006 5000k and the 55w are $10 more. so 59.95.
which one do you think would be brighter/safer?

Those are good to go.

55w kit will obviously be brighter, but the 35w one is plenty bright already anyway. Whichever one you choose, I still suggest you go with a wiring harness.

You did your homework on the Kelvin temperature. 5000K will be a great compromise between looks and function. But if you go with the 55w be advised that they do wash out the color, so go with a 6000K.

You also have to consider the housings they will be going in. HIDs were designed to be in either a projector housing or a HID reflector housing. Sticking them in OEM housings will give you light scatter.

i see. i did not know that the 55w will wash out the color so thanks for letting me know. as in wiring harness, are you talking about using the ballast/wires they include?
>drownindreams: where did you get your headlight/bumper light housing?

No..this is the wiring harness:

HIDs consume less power than your old halogen bulbs but they take 20,000 volts to ignite, without a wiring harness, all that juice is going through your stock wiring. Sooner or later it will give out. With this wiring harness you will be pulling directly from the battery.

And they should give you the 4Hi mod.

Yup.

Pretty much the best aftermarket headlights you can get for our generation. They fit almost like OEM and wont haze or yellow.
