I've got 145k on my 07 5.3 with no issues on the AFM. That said, I had it tuned out earlier this year and would remove the components all together if it weren't for the cash needed. In either case, go for the better maintained vehicle. You can tell a lot from the owners statements about the cracked glass. If he left that there for years, how long has it been since the truck had a transmission service or a brake job?

It's his wife car and he agreed that should have been fixed but out of site out of mind. Car was maintained from day one by the dealership. He has brake pads that he was going to install at 74k miles, but it didn't need them.

Sure. Just mentioning that if the life the vehicle has lived has as.much if not more to do with its ultimate longevity as the miles on it currently.

Yea, I feel pretty good about it. I think I'm going with this one. I like the fact I can verify the maintenance records on oil change at least.

I'm not going with the 6.2L. Going with the 2010 5.3L.

Well I got it and love it so far. Forgot to mention my wife dis have a 2008 Yukon about 6 years ago.

Anyways, I'm looking at buying a dash pad soon and looking at deleting the afm. Hopefully that will save me from issues down the road.

My bad, I have the attention span of a gnat. Still, a BB tune and that 5.3 will haul the mail too, just a little less of it.

Black Bear Performance tune. It will make you truck so much more fun to drive. They have a great reputation among those on TYF. My truck gets 2 mpg better than before with way more throttle response and plenty more mid range power.

Cost? Also, will this tune disable the AFM with no issues?

I don't think the 2007-2014 6.2L denali had active fuel management. That wasn't a feature added on the until the 2014 K2XX gen denali. Either way that red tahoe looks clean. If you go with a black bear tuneyou will be happy and I believe he has a tune that will shut off the afm system.

I paid $340 for an in-person BB tune. You can buy a tuner or buy a tuned ECM at different prices.
Go to the Blackbear Performance website or see their supporting vendor page on here.

I will try to contact them today. I'd like to tune it to be as fuel efficient as possible. Only real towing I'd do is when I tow my Mustang to the track.

Got my mail order tune for $240 after the core refund. Add in $45 for a crank relearn at the local dealer.

What did you notice about your ride after the tune?
