Wheel offset question?

I have 99' 2 dr with a 3" BL and 33's.(the wheels that are on it now came with the truck so I have no idea what the offset is) What would be a good offset wheel to compliment my setup without clearance issues? I will still be running 33's. I don't mind if the tires stick out past the flares a little, but not to much..Appreciate the help. I am looking at these.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the stock backspacing is about 5"???

If you're planning on the 17x 8.5's, Zero offset would be 4.25" backspacing.
The -05mm would space the wheel out more, and would likely create clearance issues with the fenders and bumpers. The +14mm offset would be the closest to your stock backspacing.

I am running 17x9 with 4.5BS and -12mm offset and they are about even with the flares.

If he's got a 12mm offset, and you've got a 14mm..... your rims will be tucked less than 1/8" more than his. Looks like the lugs on your sidewalls are a bit bigger than his though..

Mine are -12 the ones he is looking at are +14 so that is about 1" difference

According to this, his will be tucked in. Positive offset pushes the wheels in further

Of course, that's assuming the wheel website lists the offset correctly.



Edit: just checked my wheels online, I bought the +25mm offset version of my MB Blitz's, they push the wheel out further than the -06mm version does. So you're correct, they would stick out about an inch further.

Most likely, he'll need to do some fender trimming and cranking.

When you call them to order, tell them you want whichever will tuck in more, you're worried about the tires contacting the fender - that simple.

Read ^ again in one part you said his will tuck more and the next you said they will stick out farther.

BUT you are right a positive offset will tuck more than a negative. SO if he gets the one with +14 his will be about an inch more in than mine are.


The wheels you have on there now look like they might be 10 wide maybe. So you should be fine with whatever you choose from the ones you have posted
