Started out with a single kicker cvr 15 powered at 500 rms from a pioneer 8601 amp in a slot ported ground shaker box.
It wasn't enough.

Moved up to a dc lvl 3 15 in a slot ported box tuned around 32 Hz on a pioneer 9601 @ 1200rms
It was louder, but still... Not enough...

Just to see what it would sound like.
I put both the DC (dvc2ohm) and the kicker (dvc4ohm) on the amp @ 0.8ohm load.
Both subs were in separate boxes.
I didn't think the amp would hold it but it played fine for several minutes til I got scared about the voltage drop and didn't wana chance it any longer.
It SLAMMED and was surprisingly clean and deep.

That moved enough air for me and was loud enough. But... Still, not enough. It wasn't deep enough. Couldn't feel it in my chest like I'd like to.
I have always favored 12's but have never had an suv this big. It was always a small car or ext cab s10.

I was completely satisfied with 2 kicker cvr 12's on the 8601 at 800watts rms in the s10.

I'm thinking of purchasing 2 NVX VCW12D4's
And the hifonics x2200.1 amp
And building a 4th order box

Does anyone think this will give me what I'm looking for?

I have 2 15" Fosgate T2's in a 10cube box tuned to 32hertz powered by a P1000.1 Fosgate amp and I fell it in my chest and throat even with them underpowered like crazy.

Have you ever had those hcca's metered? I'm curious what kind of numbers they would put up. My old 2 15's on a single 2500 did a 148... So you should be a 150+ easy

You'll be deaf in a few years. Enjoy your hearing while you can. I remember when I was a young care free buck like you ha ha.

Lol I had mine for 3 years. With previous loud systems for a few years before that. Got my hearing checked while I had my 15's and had great hearing. They said I had no hearing loss
