No your stock hatch supports will be fine. The esky base and light don't weigh much. The swap is really easy. Pull the c clips off the hinges and the whole glass comes right off and you can make the swap. Just have an extra set of arms available when you do the swap.
What about the wiring? Is it the same? It is supposed to arrive Friday!

I had to revers the wires on my esky third to get them to work on my Denali. I've heard some people say they had to and some say they didn't. Not sure why it is. If you plug in and no light just flip the pigtail around.

Install was not bad. I put some anti-seize on the posts to ease the install. I haven't been able to test the light yet.

Side note a 2006 Tahoe glass does have the mounting holes in the glass to install the third light by itself.

Looks killer man! Love that color! I think the racks, rear vent panels, and third look killer and super clean when all 3 are done together! Nice job man!
