I recently bought a 2012 Z71 and would like to create better clearance for some mild-medium off-roading for camping/hunting/fishing.

Thing is I have no idea on where to start. I'm willing to invest in wheels, bigger (taller?) tires, a lift kit, suspension components, etc.

So, what recommendations for reading, education, and of course parts would you have for a new 4x4 owner?

My opinion....due a 4" lift vs a level.
By the time you have BJ angles correct for your use and a control arm that allows good travel...a 4" cost no more.
