recently i have noticed that my pedal is more spongy than it usually is.

I also noticed that if i push the pedal in enough for the brake lights to come on i hear a noise that sounds like air being blown out coming from the master cylinder area.. cant figure out what it is

any suggestions

hows the fluid level? do you have a leak? Sounds like you have air in the system.

just rebleed the brakes.. no air bubbles came out

still the same softness on the pedal

i do need to adjust my rear drums but didnt think that would be causing the problem.

so ive noticed that in stop in go traffic/ or if i let off the brake again and reapply within 2 seconds that the brake pedal is extremely HARD to push and the engine tries to bog down if idling for a second or two then it all corrects itself

any suggestions?

brake light switch?

unknown at this time.
For the cost of diagnosis and maybe booster replacement by a shop, you can do booster and master cylinder and maybe a few other brake parts yourself. also check you vacuum hose for breaks too.
