Did the 00-06 years have a 6.2l? Would it be worth the headache to do that swap or just stock with the 6.0 swap?

No, 6.2 started in like 2009 or 10. It would be a lot cheaper to do a 6.0. I'm sure my cammed 6.0 would give a 6.2 a nice run for the money at half the cost plus you would have compatibility issues due to the 58x reluctor wheels on the crank..gonna cost ya to swap a 6.2 into a nbs.

4l80 is closer related to a th400 with OD. Think RV transmission. A STOCK 4L80 with shift kit beats a fully built 4l60. I got my 6.0 from an 02 2500 suburban that had a 4l80. If the motor came with a 4l80 u will need to use the 4l60 flex plate since the 80 plate is flat with a spacer and has a 6 bolt converter pattern..

I hated myself for not going 4l80 when I blew my transmission the first time. Given a 2nd chance I'm going 4l80 and not looking back. 6.0 torque is so much stronger and being modded makes them feel like it wants to rip the guts out a 4l60.

Interesting, I know a guy who owns a transmission shop who can build a 4L60E that can handle up 900 to 1,000 horsepower installed for $2k and setup as a daily driver. If built with similar upgrades I wonder what a 4L80e could handle. I'm expecting that the parts might cost more but not too much more and the labor would be the same cost. I wonder if the 4L80E would be a plug and play on my 2004 2wd that originally came with the 4L60E? Are the lengths the same and would the computer accept it? Plus if the wiring and electrical plugins be the same. Not that I would ever plan on having a 1,000 hp as a daily driver but since I'm already planning on having 4L60E built to handle 600hp

Agreed, I beat a 6.2L with my 5.3L (that has been let's just say mildly upgraded) by about 9 car lengths. And I haven't spent near what the same upgrades would cost on a 6.2L

Nope. The HD 4L60E is the 4L65E. The 4l80e has different ratios, not to mention different bell housing dimensions, etc.
Would it be relatively easy to do a swap to a 4L80E? Are the lengths and plugs the same. I already have 3.90 gears so I'm not too concerned with the ratios.

Transgo says a 4l80 would be good at that power level with just their shift kit lol. Hard to imagine a $2k 4l60 handling that kind of power. 4l80 are beast transmissions. The transplant can be done..4l80 is a little longer..you need an adapter harness or repin your factory harness and add a 2nd speed sensor to the front..modify your crossmember or buy a custom one to move the transfer mount back some. Custom converter to fit 4l60 plate or change to a factory 4l80 plate and spacer and a tune to control the transmission ..yeah..I'm working on making this happen..
