Transgo says a 4l80 would be good at that power level with just their shift kit lol. Hard to imagine a $2k 4l60 handling that kind of power. 4l80 are beast transmissions. The transplant can be done..4l80 is a little longer..you need an adapter harness or repin your factory harness and add a 2nd speed sensor to the front..modify your crossmember or buy a custom one to move the transfer mount back some. Custom converter to fit 4l60 plate or change to a factory 4l80 plate and spacer and a tune to control the transmission ..yeah..I'm working on making this happen..

If it's a longer length, what about the driveshaft? That's where it seems that it would get expensive

He said that they put his built 4L60E behind a modified LSX376 twin turbo with a engine dyno of 926 hp and it's got over 10,000 miles on it. It's the guys "semi" daily driver. It went to SEMA last year.

Just change the yoke on the driveshaft. The difference is a little over an inch. Not nearly as bad as people make it seem, but enough to have to have move the trans mount but that may be due to the location of the mount.

Is it possible to put 4l80 guts in a 4l60 case?
Imagine a can of biscuits when you open them..4l80 uses clutches instead of bands for the forward gears. It's a whole different animal. No such thing as a beast sunshell in a 4l80..everything is just beefier.

No, 6.2 started in like 2009 or 10. It would be a lot cheaper to do a 6.0. I'm sure my cammed 6.0 would give a 6.2 a nice run for the money at half the cost plus you would have compatibility issues due to the 58x reluctor wheels on the crank..gonna cost ya to swap a 6.2 into a nbs.

Ok. I was looking at finding a 6.0L change out the cam, headers, port and polish somethings and have it tuned

All the LS bottom ends will easily hold 700 and are known many times to hold up over 1,000HP. About the only real weak point at "normal" power levels (<600ish) is the connecting rod bolts. Swap 'em for ARP or (my preference) Katech.
