2006 Suburban LTZ 6.0l V8 transmition HELP!!

like the title says, i have a 2006 ltz suburban 6.0l AWD but im wanting to know which transmition to use that is a 2WD only trans...
im willing to buy or trade all my AWD gear or if someone can give me a specific part number or which trans i need to buy to work with my 6.0L

What you have now is a 4L80E that is a short shaft for 4x4, just find one that is a long shaft for 2wd and you should be good to go.

awesome thanks for the reply so like a 4l60e?? those are ones im looking at but i didnt know if after i changed it the computer would throw a bunch of codes n stuff??

No not a 4L60. That would be a downgrade from what you have in there now as far as strength. They make 4L80 in a 2wd. The 4L80 is programmed differently so the shift strategy would probably be wrong, and yes might throw a code. Just get a 2wd trans from behind a 6.0 because they only put 4L60 and 4L65 behind a 5.3 and 4L80 behind a 6.0 from factory.

That would work, just make sure you get them your VIN so that they can program it correctly to work with the PCM and doesn't set incorrect VIN codes. But you make sure you rebuild it so you won't have any problems.

I believe you currently have the 4L65E not the 4L80, the 80 would be a great upgrade but only the 2500 and 3500 models have the 4L80s. Also if your going to spend the time and money to swap might aswell buy a slightly overbuilt transmission so it will last forever especially with that weight and the 6.0.
