Hello all, I recently purchased a 2012 GMC Yukon XL 2500 with 66,000 miles. It's hard loaded with heated and cooled leather, 4wd, heated rear buckets, sunroof, navigation, towing mirrors, retractable running boards and dual DVD's. I'm not sure if it was ordered with door molding and badging delete but, those have been removed. It has aluminum 20" wheels with a lift and leveling kit. I haven't received it yet, they're detailing it and fixing a couple flaws.

I'll be using it to tow my 27' Airstream travel trailer. I'll be adding a front receiver hitch and possibly some rear airbags or helper springs. If anyone has any suggestions or experience with either, it would be much appreciated.

I'm sure I'll have many other questions as I go along.

It's replacing my 2002 Ford Excursion V10 and I'm hoping it will provide many years of problem free towing as the Ol' Beast!!

Thanks!

I'd put running boards back on if it were mine. Nice looking truck, interior looks just like mine. Enjoy!

You can pay $5 or $10 at compnine.com and get your RPO sheet decoded. Sometimes it'll even show how many others of the same year had your options.

What's the Airstream weigh?

That was part of what I negotiated at the dealer. They are installing AMP Research retractable running boards.

I already did that, thanks for the tip. Mine doesn't show how many others were built with options.

About 8,000lbs

Looks like you're good to go on all fronts!

Well, what about those tires? They appear much larger than stock for a 2500. Are they E-Rated, 10-Ply and is their rating enough to tow with?
