Okay so I was looking at this 1999 tahoe k1500 at the auction. I looked up the vin and it showed that it had 373 gears, 4WD, LS trim, z71 badging (even tho I didn't see any). I looked underneath and saw it had a 14 bolt axle. But according to the vin it had the smaller 10 inch brakes. I need some clarification because what I have researched is that the 14 bolt sf axle has the bigger 11 inch brakes. Also if a tahoe comes with 373 gears, does that mean that it has a 14 bolt? Thanks

You'll need to check the RPO label on the glove box (and I'm not sure if it was a factory option on the Tahoe) but I've read that the F44 option may have included the 9.5" rear (14-bolt) and the 11" drums.

You could get the 3.73 in a 10-bolt. Mine has that. The GM information sheet for a 1999 Tahoe only shows the 8.6" 10-bolt as available. Someone may have swapped it out in your case, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
